Cashman (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday against the Rams. Cashman already missed the Vikings' Week 7 loss to the Lions and will now miss a second-straight contest due to turf toe. With 10 days until their next game after Thursday, the 28-year-old will have extra time to recover and potentially return in Week 9 against the Colts.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell stated Monday that he isn't sure if Cashman (toe) will be available Thursday against the Rams, but he is positive he should return no later than Week 9, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Cashman hasn't played since Week 5 due to turf toe, but he is making good progress, according to O'Connell. With the Vikings on a short week and playing the Rams on Thursday, the 28-year-old won't have much extra time to recover and prepare before the team's next matchup. A firmer stance on his status for the matchup may not come until Minnesota releases its inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff Thursday.

Cashman recorded 13 tackles (five solo), with 1.0 sacks, during Minnesota's 23-17 win over the 49ers on Sunday. Cashman was dominant for the Vikings, as he led the team in tackles in addition to logging his first sack of the season. The 28-year-old has now amassed 19 tackles (nine solo) across the first two games of the 2024 campaign.

Cashman (finger) was absent from the Vikings' injury report Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Giants. Cashman sustained a finger injury that required surgery in mid-August, but it appears he's already moved past the issue and will be ready for Minnesota's regular-season opener Sunday. Expect the first-year Viking to serve as one of the team's top inside linebackers after recording 106 total tackles across 14 regular-season games with the Texans in 2023.

Cashman suffered a finger injury that required surgery Wednesday, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports. Coach Kevin O'Connell said Cashman will return once his stitches heal. It's not a long-term issue, and Cashman should be fine for Week 1. Signed to a three-year deal back in March, Cashman is coming off a career year last season in Houston, finishing with 106 tackles (56 solo), two sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. He should be a tackling machine for Minnesota.
