The Bills released Isabella on Tuesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Selected with the No. 62 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Cardinals, Isabella was cut by Arizona in October of 2022 and has spent the last couple years bouncing around the practice squads and active rosters of the Ravens and Bills. Now 27, Isabella is running out of time in the NFL and hasn't caught a regular-season pass since he left the Cardinals.

Isabella (leg) returned to practice Wednesday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Isabella was able to make a quick recovery after being carted off the field Monday. The 27-year-old is likely facing an uphill battle to make the Bills' final 53-man roster, but his speedy return to the field should keep him in contention for now.

Buffalo signed Isabella to a reserve/future contract Monday. Isabella was active for the Bills' divisional-round loss versus the Chiefs, and now he'll get a chance to compete for a spot on Buffalo's 53-man roster for 2024. Over four games this season (including playoffs), he drew one target, which he failed to haul in, and two kick returns for 44 yards.

The Bills elevated Isabella to the active roster Saturday. Isabella was promoted from the practice squad for the Bills' AFC wild-card victory over the Steelers. He returned one kickoff for 19 yards and did not haul in his lone target. With Gabe Davis (knee) ruled out for Sunday's AFC divisional round contest against the Chiefs, Isabella will likely see the playing field, albeit in a limited role on special teams.

Isabella reverted to Buffalo's practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log. Isabella had a 19-yard kickoff return and didn't catch his only target in Monday's 31-17 wild-card round win over the Steelers. He played seven snaps on offense and 14 on special teams. The wide receiver will be a candidate to be elevated prior to Sunday's divisional round home game against the Chiefs.
