Minshew is in line to sign a one-year contract with the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Minshew's odds of starting Week 1 will depend on Arizona's other moves this offseason, with Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis being the other QBs currently under contract. Minshew replaced an injured Patrick Mahomes (knee) in Kansas City this past December, only to suffer a season-ending knee injury of his own during his first start. Initial reports said the injury might be an ACL tear, but Minshew ultimately was diagnosed with just a bone bruise and made a full recovery by the end of January, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Minshew (knee) will not require any procedures to address the season-ending knee injury he suffered in Week 16 and is already back to full strength, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Minshew missed the final two games of the regular season due to a left knee injury initially reported as a torn ACL and was then diagnosed as a non-displaced tibial plateau fracture, though Schefter now reports that the veteran quarterback merely suffered a bone bruise. After having played out the 2025 season on a one-year, $1.17 million contract with the Chiefs, Minshew will now be fully healthy in time to hit free agency this offseason. If he doesn't reunite with Kansas City, Minshew should have little difficulty securing a backup role elsewhere in the league.

Minshew's MRI on Monday revealed that he didn't suffer a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Rapoport adds that Minshew has been diagnosed with a non-displaced tibial plateau fracture, which is considered a very bad bone bruise. Minshew still is expected to miss game time due to the knee injury, but it's good news for the veteran quarterback nonetheless after a torn ACL was the initial fear. Chris Oladokun came on in relief of Minshew versus Tennessee and completed 11 of 16 passes for 111 scoreless yards. He also rushed two times for seven yards. With Minshew joining Patrick Mahomes (knee) on the shelf, the Chiefs are slated to sign Shane Buechele off the Bills' practice squad to join Oladokun in the quarterback room.

Minshew was forced out of Sunday's game against the Titans with a knee injury. With Patrick Mahomes (knee) done for the season, Minshew drew the start in his place Sunday. Following his exit from the contest, Chris Oladokun is in at QB for the Chiefs.
-
Minshew will start for the rest of the season for Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes (ACL) out. The only reason to consider Minshew as a Fantasy option is his matchup against Tennessee in Week 16 since the Titans have allowed seven of the past eight quarterbacks to score at least 21.7 Fantasy points, including four in a row. Minshew is a must-add in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues, and he should be considered a low-end starter in those formats given the matchup.
