  Settle finished the 2024 regular season with 31 total tackles (24 solo), including 5.0 sacks, while also adding a fumble recovery across 17 games. Settle signed a two-year contract with the Texans in March, which turned out to be a good deal for Houston. The defensive tackle secured a career-high 31 total takedowns while matching a career-best 5.0 sacks in 2024. Settle will enter the 2025 campaign with some momentum ahead of a contract year with Houston.

  Settle (calf) was not listed on the Texans' injury report Tuesday. Settle tweaked his calf during Sunday's win over the Colts, but it doesn't appear to be a serious issue as he was able to practice without limitations Tuesday. Barring any setbacks, the 2018 fifth-round pick should be able to suit up against the Jets on Thursday night. Settle is on a two-game sack streak, and through the first eight games of the regular season he has accumulated 14 tackles (13 solo), including 4.0 sacks.

  Settle injured his calf in Sunday's Week 8 matchup against Indianapolis and is questionable to return. Settle had a good game going prior to getting hurt, notching a team-high three tackles, including 1.0 sacks. The defensive tackle has maintained a steady workload throughout the campaign, logging over half of the Texans' defensive snaps every week since Week 3. Kurt Hinish could be called upon to absorb Settle's snaps if the latter isn't able to return following halftime.

• Texans' Tim Settle: Headed to Houston

  The Texans signed Settle to a two-year deal worth up to $7 million Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. After spending the first six years of his career with the Commanders and Bills, the 26-year-old defensive lineman is headed to Houston. Across Settle's two seasons with the Bills, he appeared in 32 games and recorded 33 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, while also defending one pass. The Virginia Tech product is expected to have the chance to compete for a solid role on the Texans' defensive line, especially with the departure of Sheldon Rankins this offseason.

• Bills' Tim Settle: Back to work after missing Week 2

  Settle (calf) has been able to practice on a limited basis the past two days. Settle missed the Week 2 win over Tennessee after making a one-tackle debut for the Bills in Week 1, a game where he saw 42 percent of the defensive snaps. He's a depth guy for now, but with the defense so banged up heading into an important divisional game, any healthy body that can provide capable play will go a long way.
