  Sheffield signed a contract with the Jets on Saturday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Sheffield played five regular-season games between the Titans and 49ers in 2023 and accumulated four solo tackles for the latter in the process. Prior to that, he spent his first three seasons in Atlanta. The journeyman will now look for a fresh start in New York by competing for a depth role in the secondary.

  Sheffield (undisclosed) was brought in for a tryout by San Francisco on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Sheffield dealt with an undisclosed injury during training camp with the Texans, and he was let go by the team in mid-August. Now, the 27-year-old cornerback appears to be healthy and ready to sign with a new squad this season.

  The Texans signed Sheffield on Friday. Sheffield was selected by the Falcons in the fourth round of the 2019 draft and appeared in 38 contests over three seasons before being waived following the 2021 campaign. He was claimed by Houston in May but let go in October and remained a free agent for the remainder of the season. He'll get another chance to spend time with Houston during the offseason and compete for a roster spot heading into training camp.

  Sheffield (undisclosed) was brought in for a workout with the Giants on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Sheffield was waived with an injury designation before reverting to the Texans' IR in late August. The fourth-year cornerback was then let go by Houston on Oct. 11, and he appears to be healthy again after trying out for the Giants. Sheffield recorded 97 tackles, six passes defended and two forced fumbles in 29 games over his first two seasons, though he played just 49 defensive snaps during nine contests with Atlanta in 2021.

  Sheffield (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Texans on Tuesday. Sheffield signed with Houston in May after recording four tackles over nine games with Atlanta in 2021. The 26-year-old cornerback now will revert to injured reserve, as long as he passes through waivers unclaimed.
