  Fant had three receptions on seven targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to Green Bay. Fant struggled mightily despite seeing a season-best seven targets in Sunday's lopsided loss. Much of the blame can be placed on backup quarterback Sam Howell's poor play (5-14, 24 yards, INT), who was forced into action early in the second half after Geno Smith (knee) was injured. If the former is asked to start in Week 16, Fant's marginal fantasy value may evaporate completely against the Vikings next Sunday.

Fant has grabbed three catches in consecutive games since returning from a layoff due to a groin injury. The veteran tight end has averaged 22.0 yards in those two contests with no touchdowns scored, resulting in mediocre fantasy production. Rookie tight end AJ Barner remained in the mix with a 13-yard reception Sunday, further cutting into Fant's fantasy value. Going back to last week, Fant has put together two straight uncapped sessions, indicating he's past the groin injury that has sidelined him for the last three games. Prior to his absence, he regularly paced Seahawks tight ends en route to a 27-285-0 receiving line on 32 targets during the first eight contests of the campaign. Fant likely will settle back into the starting role Sunday at the Jets.
