The Browns traded Tryon-Shoyinka and a seventh-round pick to the Bears for a sixth-round pick Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. A 2021 first-round pick, Tryon-Shoyinka joined forces with Cleveland in free agency in the offseason, but he found it difficult to break into a deep D-line, logging just 31 defensive snaps (and nine tackles) in eight appearances with the team. Chicago lost Dayo Odeyingbo to a torn Achilles in Week 9, so the addition of Tryon-Shoyinka is a step to help fortify its pass rush. Tryon-Shoyinka has 15.0 sacks across 74 career regular-season games between the Buccaneers and Browns.

Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Tryon-Shoyinka sustained a hip injury during last week's loss to the Browns. He logged consecutive limited practice sessions to start Week 7 prep, finished as a full participant Friday and has received the green light to suit up Sunday. Tryon-Shoyinka has appeared in all six of Cleveland's games this season, recording eight total tackles while primarily contributing on special teams.

Tryon-Shoyinka (hip) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The 2021 first-round pick from Washington sustained a hip injury in the Browns' Week 6 loss to the Steelers, but after logging consecutive limited practice sessions, he's got a chance to play Sunday. Tryon-Shoyinka has appeared in all six of Cleveland's games this season, recording eight total tackles while primarily contributing on special teams. If he's unable to suit up for the Week 7 matchup, expect Cameron Thomas to operate as one of the Browns' top reserve defensive ends.

Tryon-Shoyinka won't return to Sunday's game against the Steelers due to a hip injury. The 2021 first-round pick sustained a hip injury at some point in the third quarter and was quickly ruled out shortly after heading to the locker room. He logged two tackles and one quarterback hit prior to his departure.

Tryon-Shoyinka is in line to sign with the Browns on a one-year, $4.75 million contract, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports. A 2021 first-round pick of the Buccaneers, Tryon-Shoyinka saw his snap count reduce in each of his final two seasons with Tampa Bay, culminating in a career-low 24 tackles (15 solo), including 2.0 sacks, across 15 regular-season appearances in 2024. He also had two passes defensed and one forced fumble. Now, a one-year deal with Cleveland will provide Tryon-Shoyinka a chance to prove himself and potentially rebound before hitting free agency again in 2026.
