  Lamb was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. This is the first mention of a health concern for Lamb this season, but he at least has two more sessions this week to put himself in a position to suit up Sunday against the Ravens. Through two games on the campaign, he's gathered in nine of 17 targets for 151 yards and one touchdown.

  Lamb caught four of seven targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-19 loss to the Saints. It didn't take Lamb too long to show that he was back up to speed after his training-camp holdout, hauling in a 65-yard TD in the second quarter that saw him beat two defenders along the sideline before sprinting to the end zone. It's Lamb's first touchdown of the season after he scored a career-high 14 in 2023, 12 receiving and two rushing. He remains Dak Prescott's top target heading into a Week 3 clash with the Ravens.

After signing a massive four-year, $136 million extension last week, this was the expected outcome. Lamb will enter Sunday's difficult matchup against a potent Browns defense with little ramp up after holding out throughout the majority of training camp. However, with few reliable receiving options outside of Brandin Cooks, there's been zero indication the Cowboys plan to bring Lamb along slowly Week 1.

  Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that Lamb, who remains on the reserve/commissioner's exempt list, is "building up to Sunday," Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. After agreeing to a four-year, $136 million extension last week, Lamb was placed on the aforementioned exempt list, and the Cowboys consequently were granted a two-game roster exemption. There's an expectation that the wide receiver will return to the active roster in time for Sunday's game at Cleveland, but such a move has yet to come to pass. Lamb is coming off easily the best campaign of his career, when he turned 181 targets into 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns in 17 games a year ago.

  The Cowboys were granted a two-game roster exemption for Lamb on Tuesday and have placed him on the commissioner's exempt list, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Lamb returned to practice Tuesday, one day after inking a lucrative four-year, $136 million contract extension with the Cowboys, though Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports the star wideout is currently limited to individual drills as he begins ramping up his activity level. Dallas' placement of Lamb on the exempt list, where he doesn't have to count against the 53-man roster, is simply a way for the team to better navigate Tuesday's cutdown deadline and not any indication that the No. 1 receiver is in danger of missing any action. Lamb can be activated at any time, and he still has just under two weeks left to get back into game shape prior to the Cowboys' Week 1 road matchup against the Browns on Sept. 8.
