Campbell signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Campbell has been a strong producer on special teams across the last two seasons in Miami, tallying 289 and 301 snaps, respectively. He's unlikely to play much of a role on defense, however, and he's never recorded more than 15 tackles in a single campaign.

Campbell will start at safety alongside Brandon Jones for Sunday's game against the Jets, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports. The adjustment comes with both Jevon Holland (knee-MCL) and DeShon Elliott (concussion) inactive for Sunday's game. Campbell has spent most of his time on the field on special teams this season and has nine tackles (six solo) in 11 appearances.

Campbell (knee) will miss Sunday's contest against the Chargers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. The 28-year-old was expected to miss some time as he's been dealing with a knee injury suffered in late August. Campbell appeared in 16 games for Miami last season, tallying 12 total tackles and playing primarily on special teams.

Campbell (knee) will start the 2023 season on the Dolphins' active roster, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Campbell was carted off the field in the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Jaguars on Saturday. It appears he has avoided any serious injury for the moment, otherwise he would have been placed on the team's injured reserve list. The severity of the injury is unknown.

The Dolphins tendered Campbell a contract Tuesday, Mike Masala of Dolphins Wire reports. Campbell is now in line to remain in Miami for a third consecutive year. The 27-year-old safety has primarily operated as a special-teams contributor during his tenure with the Dolphins, but he reached new career highs in defensive snaps played (92) and tackles (14) in 2022.
