  • Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: WRs to Sit
    By Jamey Eisenberg

Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) getting hurt is awful news for Waddle. He's played eight games in his career without Tagovailoa, and Waddle has 42 catches for 453 yards over that span with no touchdowns. That's an average of 5.3 catches and 56.6 yards per game. While Tyreek Hill remains a must-start Fantasy receiver -- he has 25 catches for 302 yards and a rushing touchdown in four games without Tagovailoa -- Waddle is tougher to trust. I would only start Waddle in three-receiver leagues in Week 3 at Seattle with Skylar Thompson under center.

  • Waddle brought in all four targets for 41 yards and rushed once for four yards in the Dolphins' 31-10 loss to the Bills on Thursday night. Considering how ineffective Tua Tagovailoa was in an injury-shortened three-interception performance and the fact Waddle was pulled from the game early due to the lopsided score, the fourth-year wideout's numbers weren't a complete washout. Waddle actually outproduced position mate Tyreek Hill (3-24-0) through the air, but his numbers still were a far cry from his 5-109-0 line Week 1 versus the Jaguars. Waddle will look to boost his numbers back up with either Tagovailoa or Skylar Thompson as his quarterback in a Week 3 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday, Sept. 22.

  • Waddle brought in all five targets for 109 yards in the Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. He also rushed once for three yards. Waddle was overshadowed by fellow wideout Tyreek Hill -- who finished with seven receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown -- but the fourth-year pro made quite an impact in his own right. The Alabama product connected with Tua Tagovailoa for a big 63-yard reception to start an early third-quarter drive, and he also played a key role in a late second-quarter march that resulted in the Dolphins' first touchdown by drawing a pass interference penalty and subsequently recording a 20-yard grab. Waddle also was evaluated for a concussion in the first half but cleared after a visit to the medical tent, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com. Waddle won't have to wait long to attempt to build on his impressive season-opening effort, as the Bills come to town for a Week 2 divisional showdown Thursday night.

  • Waddle (undisclosed) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. The Dolphins took a cautious approach to Waddle's recovery from an undisclosed injury for most of training camp, and the star receiver is now fully healthy to begin the regular season. The same goes for Tyreek Hill (thumb), so Tua Tagovailoa will have both his top pass-catching options available for Sunday's season opener against the Jaguars. Meanwhile, both Odell Beckham (undisclosed) and River Cracraft (upper body) will miss at least the first four games of the season, while rookie Malik Washington (quadriceps) was a limited participant Wednesday. That leaves Miami thin at wideout behind Hill, Waddle and No. 3 option Braxton Berrios.

  • Waddle (undisclosed) is wearing a non-contact jersey Monday at practice, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports. Waddle's participation in any fashion is a good sign for the Dolphins, 13 days ahead of their regular-season opener against Jacksonville. The WR room has been hit by injury after injury this summer, but it seems Waddle and Tyreek Hill (hand) are on track to be ready for Week 1, leaving the lower portion of the depth chart as the bigger question mark.
