Whyle recorded two receptions on two targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Jets. Whyle saw his offensive snap rate rise from 30 percent in Week 1 to 42 percent Sunday. He was able to pick up his first catches of the season, highlighted by a 12-yard gain late in the first quarter that set up a touchdown two plays later. Whyle could continue to see his snap rate rise as the season progresses, as Chigoziem Okonkwo has failed to make a consistent mark on Tennessee's offense across the last three seasons.

Head coach Brian Callahan said Sunday that Whyle remains in concussion protocol but could return to practice later in the week, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. It's not clear when Whyle sustained the concussion, as he did not suit up for the Titans' 16-15 win over the Seahawks on Saturday. Whyle was originally listed as questionable for the Titans' Week 17 affair after sustaining a knee injury during Friday's practice, but it seems as if the issue is more serious than the team originally thought. The 24-year-old will miss the remainder of Tennessee's season, making way for Trevon Wesco and Kevin Rader to possibly see more work as reserve tight end options.
