  Olave (illness) said he hopes to finalize a contract extension with the Saints before training camp, Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports. Olave indicated that reaching an agreement before camp would help avoid any distractions and "not affect team chemistry." The standout wide receiver has been limited during offseason work while recovering from January treatment for a blood clot, but head coach Kellen Moore has repeatedly expressed confidence in his recovery. Per Albert Breer of SI.com, Olave has recently been cleared, meaning he should be fully ready for the start of training camp. Olave remains the No. 1 target for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough and will be joined by rookie first-rounder Jordyn Tyson (undisclosed) during the 2026 campaign.

  Saints GM Mickey Loomis said Monday that talks with Olave (illness) regarding a contact extension have been positive, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. "Obviously we'd love to have something done sooner than later, and I'm sure Chris would, as well, but we're not there yet," Loomis said. Olave is headed into the final year of his rookie deal and is set to play on the fifth-year team option for $15.493 million in 2026 if the sides are unable to come to an agreement. After appearing in just eight games in 2024 due to concussion issues, Olave played in 16 regular-season contests last season before missing the Week 18 finale with a blood clot in his lung. Olave ended up having a career year, posting 100 catches for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns on 156 targets, all career highs for the 25-year-old. Olave is likely to command north of $33 million per year on a new contract.

Olave came ever so close to playing 17 regular-season games for the first time in his career, missing out after a blood clot was discovered in his lung earlier this week. The issue reportedly was detected early, with the expectation that he'll be fine after treatment. Olave finishes 2025 with career highs in numerous categories, including targets (156), catches (100), receiving yards (1,163) and touchdowns (nine). He'll likely be a second/third-round fantasy pick in 2026, following a strong finish to 2025 for both Olave and QB Tyler Shough.

  Olave (back) is active for Sunday's game at Tennessee. Olave has periodically been bothered by a back issue since Week 13 prep, but he's suited up for each of the Saints' last four contests on his way to a 23-310-4 line on 37 targets during that span. His limited session Friday led the team to deem him questionable for Week 17 action, but Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reported Saturday that Olave was expected to be active and ready for his normal workload, the former of which now has been confirmed. Assuming he's good for his roughly better than 80 percent weekly snap share Sunday, Olave again will operate as the top pass catcher for rookie QB Tyler Shough.

  Olave (back) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, but he traveled with the Saints to Nashville and is expected to play, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Per Underhill, Olave, who was listed as a limited participant in practice Friday, is expected to be a full go against Tennessee. In any case, the wideout's status will be confirmed when the Saints post their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
