After going unclaimed on waivers, the fullback is back in the organization. Johnson is active and ready to suit up for his first game since Week 3 against the Jaguars, where he suffered a hamstring injury that placed him on injured reserve. The starting fullback's presence should improve the Texans' special teams unit as well as provide an extra blocker out of the backfield for a rushing attack comprising Nick Chubb and Woody Marks.   Johnson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Johnson was a full participant in practice all week, but he's not quite ready to return from injured reserve. Given his ability to ramp up his practice participation, the seventh-year pro should be activated from IR ahead of the Texans' Week 11 clash against the Titans on Sunday, Nov. 16.

• Texans' Jakob Johnson: Questionable ahead of Week 9

  Johnson (hamstring) was a full participant at Friday's practice and is listed as questionable leading up to Week 9 against Denver. Johnson, who was designated to return from the injured list earlier in the week, logged full practices Thursday and Friday. The fullback was considered as one option to fill in for tight end Dalton Schultz (knee, shoulder), but that doesn't appear to be needed as Schultz logged a full practice Friday and is likely to play Sunday. Johnson has appeared in three games but does not have a carry over 40 snaps on offense. He's also a component on special teams, where he has one tackle and one blocked punt over 36 snaps.
