Conner was waived by the Cowboys on Tuesday. Conner was unable to make the Cowboys' 53-man roster ahead of the 2024 season after signing a reserve/future contract with Dallas back in January. The 24-year-old running back spent the entire 2023 campaign on the Jaguars' practice squad, and he could be headed toward a similar fate if he is able to catch on with another squad for this season.

The Cowboys signed Conner to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports. A fifth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2022, Conner rushed for 12-42-1 across eight games as a rookie but failed to make Jacksonville's 53-man roster out of training camp and spent all of 2023 on the team's practice squad. He's getting a change of scenery with the Cowboys and a chance to impress a new coaching staff.

The Jaguars waived Conner on Tuesday, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports. A fifth-round pick in 2022, Conner appeared in eight games as a rookie, totaling 12 rushing attempts for 42 yards and a score. However, the Ole Miss product dropped down the depth chart after the Jaguars added Tank Bigsby and D'Ernest Johnson this offseason. Conner could return to Jacksonville via a practice-squad deal if he goes unclaimed through waivers.

Conner had five carries for 17 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 31-3 win over the Texans. The rookie fifth-round pick nearly doubled his carries for the season during Sunday's blowout victory, and he also reached the end zone for the first time in his professional career. JaMycal Hasty remains the top backup to starter Travis Etienne, and Conner is unlikely to see much work Week 18 with the Jaguars and Titans facing off for the AFC South crown.

Conner carried once for three yards during Sunday's 40-34 overtime win against the Cowboys. The rookie fifth-round pick played only three offensive snaps as he was on the field for a quick series in the third quarter. Conner is entrenched as Jacksonville's No. 3 tailback behind Travis Etienne and JaMycal Hasty.
