Dallas placed Kneeland (knee) on its injured reserve list Wednesday. It was already established after Kneeland was diagnosed with a partially torn lateral meniscus Monday that he would have to sit out at least four games, so his move to injured reserve isn't a surprise. Carl Lawson and Tyrus Wheat figure to be the primary beneficiaries of Kneeland's extended absence in terms of playing time.

Kneeland (knee) is waiting for MRI results Monday to determine the severity of the injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Steelers, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports. Kneeland was carted to the locker room in the first quarter after suffering the injury and was unable to return. With Dallas already down DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and possibly Micah Parsons (ankle) for Week 6, any missed time for the Western Michigan product could be a significant blow to the Cowboys' defensive front.

Kneeland (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Steelers, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. Kneeland suffered a knee injury on the Steelers' first possession of the game, putting his status for the rest of the contest in question. Kneeland stepped into a starting role in Week 5 with Micah Parsons (ankle) unavailable, and Carl Lawson may be the next man up in Kneeland's absence.

Kneeland (calf) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against New Orleans and is expected to play, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Kneeland progressed throughout the practice week, going from a DNP on Wednesday to limited Thursday and then full Friday. He recorded three tackles (two solo) and a pair of QB hits in the Week 1 win over the Browns while playing 58 percent of the Cowboys' defensive snaps.

Kneeland (calf) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports. Kneeland opened the week as a DNP on Wednesday due to a calf issue, but he was able to participate in a restricted capacity Thursday. His participation during Friday's practice will provide clarity on his status ahead of Sunday's game against New Orleans. The rookie second-round pick registered three tackles (two solo) and one pass defended in the Cowboys' Week 1 victory over the Browns.
