Moore got things cooking for the 49ers when he ran back the game's opening kickoff for 98 yards. The return specialist was run down at the one-yard line, which opened the door for Christian McCaffrey to finish off the easiest opening scoring drive in recent memory. Moore's impact was only felt in the return game, as he did not garner a target in the blowout win with Ricky Pearsall (knee) back in the fold. Moore played a role in the field position game for the 49ers after running back five of his six return opportunities Sunday. Moore overcame a minor ankle injury early in the practice week in order to split his time evenly between the offense and special teams Sunday (nine snaps apiece). The return specialist has garnered four targets across eight appearances this season, rendering him useless outside of formats that incorporate return yardage. Expect Moore to continue acting as the 49ers' primary return man while running a handful of routes on offense until the team's receiver room returns to full strength.

  San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that Moore (ankle) is not practicing, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Moore appears to have sustained an ankle injury during the 49ers' loss to Tampa Bay in Week 6, making him uncertain for Sunday's contest against the Falcons. He hasn't logged a target on offense in back-to-back games, though Moore did compile a season-best 109 yards as a kick returner versus the Buccaneers, plus 25 yards as a punt returner. He remains off the fantasy radar in all formats other than deeper leagues that place a premium on return yardage.
