McMillan (neck) won't return for Sunday's game against the Saints, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. As expected, with McMillan having logged just 2-3 limited practices after missing more than three months due to fractures and ligament damage in his neck. It's unclear what kind of role he'll have if he's ready to play in Week 15 or 16.

McMillan (neck) was a limited practice participant Thursday. The Buccaneers designated McMillan for return from injured reserve Wednesday, and he so far has logged a limited walkthrough and a capped practice this week. He's seeking his first game action since preseason Week 2 in mid-August, when he suffered three neck fractures and significant ligament damage in his neck that resulted in him wearing a neck brace for a lengthy span of time. McMillan may require a ramp-up period in order to be activated from IR, but Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he even has a chance to play Sunday against the Saints.

McMillan (neck) was limited in Wednesday's walkthrough. McMillan suffered a major scare preseason Week 2 when he was upended while making a leaping catch and fell hard on his neck and helmet. He sustained three neck fractures and significant ligament damage in his neck that forced him to wear a neck brace for a long stretch of time. Now that he's been designated for return from injured reserve and actually mixed into some drills, McMillan has a chance to return to action as soon as Sunday's game against the Saints, but the Buccaneers instead may be more focused on ramping up his activity level with an aim to get him back beyond Week 14.

Tampa Bay is designating McMillan (neck) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. McMillan suffered a severe neck strain along with multiple broken bones in his neck during a preseason game in mid-August. He consequently began the regular season on IR (where he still resides), but he's finally ready to return to practice. Given McMillan's extended absence, it could take some time for him to be ready to play in games, but it appears that he'll be able to contribute before the end of December, barring any setbacks. The Buccaneers' receiving corps has been shorthanded all season, so it'll be a big boon to get McMillan back. In similarly positive news for the team's passing game, veteran wideout Mike Evans (collarbone, IR) also is being designated to return from IR on Wednesday.

Coach Todd Bowles said Monday that McMillan (neck) could practice this week, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. McMillan suffered multiple neck fractures and ligament damage in an Aug. 16 preseason game. The injuries landed McMillan on injured reserve, where he's spent the first 13 weeks of the season. Bowles added that McMillan had to adjust to wearing a helmet again to see how strong his neck is following the injuries. While McMillan could begin practicing this week, Bowles said both McMillan and Mike Evans (collarbone) "have a little ways to go before playing," according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. The Bucs haven't had their entire wideout room healthy yet this season.
