  • Texans' C.J. Stroud: Sleeper QBs
    By Jamey Eisenberg

I expected Stroud to play well in Week 15 against Arizona, and he delivered a solid outing with 29.4 Fantasy points. He should have another quality performance in Week 16 against Las Vegas, and the Raiders just allowed Jalen Hurts to score 31.1 Fantasy points in Week 15. For the season, seven quarterbacks have scored at least 21.2 Fantasy points against Las Vegas, and I expect Stroud to add to that total. He should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Stroud completed 22 of 29 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 40-20 win over the Cardinals. He added 10 rushing yards on six carries. A 57-yard TD strike to Nico Collins on the second play of the game set the tone for the rout, and Stroud tossed two more scores -- one to Dalton Schultz in the third quarter and a second to Collins in the fourth -- before the afternoon was over. It's the second time this season Stroud has thrown more than two touchdowns, with the other coming against the Ravens back in Week 5. The third-year QB is keeping the Texans in position for a playoff spot, and he'll take a 15:6 TD:INT through 11 games into another soft matchup against the Raiders in Week 16.

  • Texans' C.J. Stroud: Sleeper QBs
    By Jamey Eisenberg

This is a good spot to trust Stroud with a home game against the Cardinals, and he's worth using as a low-end starter in all leagues. Stroud has scored at least 22.4 Fantasy points in two of his past three games at home, and Arizona has allowed three of the past four opposing quarterbacks to score at least 23.1 Fantasy points, including Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence and Matthew Stafford. Stroud has been a mediocre Fantasy quarterback since returning from a three-game absence with a concussion, scoring 14.6 points or less in consecutive outings against the Colts and Chiefs. But I expect him to end his slump with this matchup against the Cardinals at home.

  • Stroud acknowledge his poise faltered against Kansas City's aggressive defense in the second half of Sunday's win over the Chiefs, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports. "I think that's something I can get better at, just being calm in the chaos," Stroud said. "Pressure, guys flying at your feet, hitting you after the whistle or whatever the case may be. I just want to be able to put my team in better positions." Lost among Houston's fifth straight victory and dominating defensive effort was the offense's second-half struggles to move the ball. After leaping to a 10-0 lead at halftime, the Texans totaled 67 yards (2.0 yards per play) in the final 30 minutes with four consecutive three-and-outs as the Chiefs dialed up blitz after blitz. Houston's defense set up a couple of short fields in the fourth quarter, which produced the final 10 points and secured the win. Stroud's performance against the pressure is somewhat surprising, given his 60.3 percent completion percentage against pressure heading into the game was the best of his career and better than most quarterbacks this season. In Week 15, Stroud faces the Cardinals, who rank 12th in blitzing (25.1 percent) but only 27th in pressures (18.3 percent) and sacks (24) through 13 games.

  • Stroud completed 15 of 31 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chiefs. He added two rushes for five yards. Stroud led the Texans to consecutive scoring drives late in the first quarter and into the second quarter, during which he completed long passes of 46 and 53 yards while also capping a touchdown drive with a nine-yard pass to Woody Marks. He didn't muster much production thereafter, as Houston's only additional score came on a short field as the result of a turnover of downs by Kansas City. Positively, Stroud did not turn the ball over and helped Houston continue to surge toward a playoff spot, though he has only one total touchdown in two games since returning from a concussion.
