Brett Maher K | LAR
Brett Maher: Released but should be re-signed
The Cowboys released Maher on Tuesday but likely will re-sign him before Week 1, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The team signed Maher on Aug. 9 after Jonathan Garibay was waived. Dallas then cut Lirim Hajrullahu two weeks later, leaving Maher as the only kicker on the roster. He's one of the few kickers in NFL history with multiple conversions from over 60 yards, but he struggled with midrange kicks during his first stint in Dallas (2018-19).

Zane Gonzalez K | MIA
Panthers' Zane Gonzalez: Surgery TBD per Rhule
Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said Monday that it's yet to be determined if Gonzalez (groin) will need surgery or how long he'll be out, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Gonzalez suffered the injury during Friday's preseason finale, but the extent of the issue remains unknown, though he is expected to miss a significant amount of time. He's currently the only kicker on Carolina's roster, so expect the Panthers to make a move for a replacement soon. More information on Gonzalez's status should come closer to Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline.

Chris Boswell K | PIT
Steelers' Chris Boswell: Busy in preseason finale
Boswell converted four of his five field-goal attempts while making his lone extra-point try during Sunday's 19-9 preseason win over the Lions.
Boswell had a 29-yard field-goal attempt blocked early in the third quarter Sunday, but he was otherwise perfect while accounting for most of Pittsburgh's scoring during the final game of the preseason. The 31-year-old had missed his only other preseason field-goal attempt ahead of Sunday's matchup, but he enters the regular season as the clear starting kicker for the Steelers after agreeing to a four-year, $20 million extension with Pittsburgh in early August.

Graham Gano K | NYG
Giants' Graham Gano: Likely available for Week 1
Gano (concussion) is expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Titans, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Gano suffered a concussion while trying to make a tackle during the Giants' second preseason game and has remained sidelined since. New York brought in Ryan Santoso as an emergency fill-in for the preseason finale, but the team waived him Monday, suggesting they have confidence that Gano will be fully healthy by the start of the regular season.

Greg Zuerlein K | NYJ
Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Nails 49-yarder
Zuerlein made his only field-goal attempt from 49 yards and converted all four of his PAT attempts in Sunday's 31-27 preseason win over the Giants.
Zuerlein showed off the mix of accuracy and power that helped him beat out Eddy Pineiro in New York's training camp kicking competition. The veteran kicker could be busy in 2022 on a Jets offense with enough weapons to move the ball but a lack of established red-zone producers to finish off drives.

Cameron Dicker K | LAC
Cameron Dicker: Let go by Ravens
Dicker was waived by the Ravens on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Dicker spent time with the Rams earlier in the offseason after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. He spent just three days in Baltimore but was unable to land a spot on the team's final roster.

Cade York K | NYJ
Browns' Cade York: Legend grows
York connected on two of three field-goal attempts in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago.
York has been wowing onlookers during training camp and did nothing to diminish his believers Saturday. He was successful on kicks from 57 and 46 yards. The rookie's lone miss was wide left from 58 yards out. "I just didn't attack the ball enough," he told George M. Thomas of the Akron Beacon Journal regarding the missed kick. York has been successful from 50 and 57 yards during preseason action, and his two misses were from 55 and 58 yards. the fourth-round draft pick could be a fantasy asset this season, as Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has no qualms about sending him out for long-distance attempts.

Greg Joseph K | LV
Vikings' Greg Joseph: Standout effort in preseason finale
Joseph drilled field-goal attempts of 46 and 58 yards and converted his one extra-point try during the Vikings' 23-13 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday night.
The four-year pro couldn't have asked for a better tune-up for the regular season, particularly boosting his confidence with his 58-yard conversion on the first play of the fourth quarter. The long-distance success is nothing new for Joseph, who went 7-for-9 on attempts from 50 yards and beyond a season ago. The Florida Atlantic product's already solid fantasy value could get another boost this season if new head coach Kevin O'Connell's offense generates quick returns.

Matt Gay K | LV
Rams' Matt Gay: Perfect in preseason
Gay went 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points during the preseason.
Gay's longest field goal was a 43-yard attempt during the Rams' second preseason game against the Texans. Cameron Dicker went a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points during the first preseason game against the Chargers, but he was waived Aug 16. Gay should have little difficulty hanging on to the starting role on a prolific offense, which should bring plenty of opportunities for the accurate kicker, who made 32 of 34 field-goal attempts and 48 of 49 extra-point tries during the 2021 campaign.

Eddy Pineiro K | SF
Eddy Pineiro: Visits with Carolina
Pineiro was brought in for a free-agent visit by the Panthers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Pineiro was let go by the Jets on Tuesday after losing out on the team's starting kicker competition against Greg Zuerlein this offseason. Carolina may be in a need of a new kicker for the 2022 regular season after projected starter Zane Gonzalez (groin) suffered what is expected to be a long-term injury during the team's preseason game against the Bills on Friday. Pineiro converted 23 of 28 field-goal tries and 27 of his 29 extra-point tries over 16 games with the Bears in 2019, and he made all 17 of his kicks while filling in over the final five games of last season for the Jets.
