Justin Tucker: Joining Kansas City practice squad
Tucker agreed Wednesday to sign with Kansas City's practice squad, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Though Harrison Butker is expected to retain the Chiefs' kicking job heading into Sunday's game in Denver, he's lost some job security after missing six kicks (five field goals, one extra point) through the team's first six games. Kansas City worked out three kickers this week and ultimately settled on bringing aboard Tucker as an insurance option on the practice squad. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, the 36-year-old Tucker hasn't seen NFL action since the 2024 season, when he connected on just 73.3 percent of his field-goal attempts as a member of the Ravens.

Justin Tucker: Gets tryout with Jets
Tucker had a tryout with the Jets on Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
After all the roster jostling involved on cut-down day Monday, the Jets boast two kickers on their roster: Blake Grupe on the active roster and Jason Sanders on the practice squad. Clearly dissatisfied with the state of the position, the team held tryouts for not only Tucker, but Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty as well. Tucker spent the 2025 season out of pro football, mostly due to a 10-game suspension, but he could find himself employed again if he somewhat resembles his former status as the NFL's most accurate kicker.

Justin Tucker: Trying out with multiple teams
Tucker worked out with the Saints and the Colts in July, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Tucker was reinstated during the 2025 season after serving a 10-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy, so he is eligible to suit up for any team willing to sign him. However, he'll turn 37 in November, and his past off-field issues could make it an uphill battle for him to find employment.

Justin Tucker: Suspension lifted
The NFL reinstated Tucker on Tuesday after he served a 10-game suspension, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
After a 13-year run in Baltimore, Tucker was released in May before the NFL suspended him a month later for violating the league's personal conduct policy. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Tucker ranks fourth in NFL history with a 89.1 percent conversion rate on field goals, but he's coming off a career-worst 2024 campaign in which he missed eight of 30 field-goal tries and two of his 62 point-after attempts. The 35-year-old kicker's declining accuracy coupled with his off-field baggage could limit interest from teams even though his suspension has now been lifted.
