  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Will be evaluated Wednesday

David Culley said Friday that Fairbairn (leg) will be re-evaluated Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Fairbairn was placed on IR before the Texans' season opener and will be eligible to return during Week 4 if he is healthy. Joey Slye has connected on four of his five field-goal attempts and seven of his eight PATs while filling in for Fairbairn, but he hasn't done enough to win the job. Culley said, "If [Fairbairn] is ready to go, we'll go with him".

  • Panthers' Zane Gonzalez: Bounces back versus Texans

Gonzalez made his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point tries in Thursday night's 24-9 win over the Texans.

Gonzalez converted from 21 yards on his lone field-goal try, which along with his three PAT conversions helped stabilize his status following a pair of misses in his Panthers debut. The recent signee will now strive to maintain his consistency in Week 4 versus the Cowboys.

  • Joey Slye K | TEN

Texans' Joey Slye: Signed to Houston's roster

The Texans signed Slye to their 53-man roster ahead of Thursday's game against the Panthers.

Houston elevated Slye to the 53-man roster for the third time this season Wednesday, but his signing Thursday suggests he won't be immediately sent back to the practice squad following the matchup with Carolina. Even so, whether Slye remains Houston's kicker for the Week 4 game in Buffalo may hinge on the health of Ka'imi Fairbairn (leg). After opening the season on injured reserve, Fairbairn is first eligible to return Week 4, though it's unclear if he's made enough progress in his recovery at this point to take back kicking duties for Houston.

  • Joey Slye K | TEN

Texans' Joey Slye: Set to kick for Houston in Week 3

The Texans elevated Slye from the practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Slye is set for a third straight turn as Houston's placekicker, as Ka'imi Fairbairn won't be eligible to come off injured reserve until Week 4 at the earliest. In last weekend's loss to Cleveland, the Texans only afforded Slye one field-goal attempt, which he missed. Now, with rookie Davis Mills set to helm Houston's offense Thursday against the Panthers, Slye could have limited scoring opportunities once again.

  • Matt Gay K | SF

Rams' Matt Gay: Perfect in Week 2

Gay made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Colts.

Gay converted from 34 and 38 yards on his respective field goals, with the latter coming with just over two minutes remaining and ultimately being the difference Sunday. Through two games, Gay now sports an impressive 19 points on 11 makes and no misses overall.

  • Jason Myers K | SEA

Seahawks' Jason Myers: Misses key extra point

Myers made a 31-yard field goal and three of four extra-point attempts in Sunday's 33-30 overtime loss to the Titans.

Myers hasn't missed a field goal since the beginning of the 2020 season, but he has misfired on five extra-point tries over the past 18 games. Sunday's miss was unfortunate considering the Titans would've been forced to try a two-point conversion on their final drive if Myers had connected. Myers will likely be a low-ceiling fantasy option as long the Seahawks' offense continues its efficiency in the red zone.

  • Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Still perfect on kicks

Butker nailed all of his five extra-point attempts Sunday against the Ravens.

Butker didn't have the most fantasy-friendly day considering he didn't attempt a field goal, but he at least salvaged it a bit by making all of his five extra-point tries on the drives the Chiefs finished with touchdowns. He's still a valuable fantasy commodity among kickers given his accuracy and the fact that he's backing one of the best offenses in the league.

  • Nick Folk K | NYJ

Patriots' Nick Folk: Signs with New England

The Patriots signed Folk from their practice squad to their active roster Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Folk was promoted to the Patriots' active roster before each of the first two games this season. With Quinn Nordin (abdomen) still on IR, and the veteran Folk having made 33 consecutive field-goals, the move to sign the 36-year-old to the active roster was an obvious choice.

  • Cowboys' Greg Zuerlein: Drills game-winner Sunday

Zuerlein connected on both his extra points and both his field-goal attempts Sunday, including a 56-yarder as time expired in the fourth quarter of a 20-17 win over the Chargers.

The veteran kicker had a shaky Week 1 after missing the entire preseason while recuperating from back surgery, shanking two FGs and one PAT, but Greg the Leg appeared to be back in peak form Sunday. A healthy Zuerlein should be among the top fantasy options at his position this season given how potent the Dallas offense is expected to be most weeks.

  • Ravens' Justin Tucker: Automatic on Sunday

Tucker converted a 43-yard field goal and made all three of his extra-point attempts Sunday against the Chiefs.

Tucker has been flawless through two weeks, making all six extra points in addition to being 3-for-3 on field goals. He gets to kick in a dome Sunday against the Lions and then gets to kick at altitude in Week 4 when the Ravens travel to Denver.
