Brayden Narveson K | GB
Packers' Brayden Narveson: Drops double digits in debut
Narveson made three of four field-goal tries and both extra points he attempted in Friday's 34-29 loss to the Eagles.
Narveson misfired on a 43-yard attempt late in the third quarter that would have brought the Packers within two points, but he was true on his three field-goal attempts from 31 yards and in. He does not have a firm grasp on his job after joining Green Bay less than two weeks ago, but he likely did enough in the opener to hold onto the spot for the time being.

Matt Gay K | IND
Colts' Matt Gay: Status in question for Sunday
Gay (hernia) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Texans.
Gay has been in recovery mode since undergoing surgery on a sports hernia following Indianapolis' last preseason game Aug. 22. He didn't practice at all this week, but the team still is giving him a chance to serve as its placekicker Sunday. Head coach Shane Steichen told JJ Stankewitz of the Colts' official site Friday that Spencer Shrader will be called up from the practice squad to handle kicking duties this weekend if Gay is deemed inactive 90 minutes before a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Matt Gay K | IND
Colts' Matt Gay: Looking unlikely for Sunday
Gay (sports hernia) is not participating in Friday's practice, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Gay hasn't practiced in any capacity this week while recovering from sports hernia surgery, making him look like a strong candidate to sit out Sunday's regular-season opener against the Texans. Friday's official practice report will reveal Gay's injury designation for Week 1. If Gay can't go, undrafted rookie Spencer Shrader will work as Indianapolis' starting kicker versus Houston.

Harrison Butker K | KC
Chiefs' Harrison Butker: Nails both field goals vs. Ravens
Butker converted both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night.
Butker made the most of his scoring opportunities Week 1, with both of his field goals coming from just over 30 yards out. The Chiefs' offense displayed some regained explosiveness versus Baltimore, due in part to a two-TD debut by rookie first-rounder Xavier Worthy, so Butker will remain a top fantasy asset at the kicker position heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Bengals.

Justin Tucker K | BAL
Ravens' Justin Tucker: Misses long field goal in loss
Tucker went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and converted both of his extra-point attempts Thursday against the Chiefs.
Tucker's 53-yard field-goal try sailed wide left late in the second quarter, but he converted his other two attempts. He was good from 32 and 25 yards, but his miss from distance raised some eyebrows given his struggles from long range last season when he made just one of five attempts from beyond 50 yards. The Ravens return home to host the Raiders in Week 2.

Chase McLaughlin K | TB
Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Back to full practice
McLaughlin (abdomen) returned to a full practice Thursday.
McLaughlin should be good to go for Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Commanders. The 28-year-old kicker made a career-best 93.5 percent of his field goal attempts last season, going 29 of 31 while making all 33 of his extra points. The big year earned McLaughlin a three-year, $12.3 million deal in the offseason.

Matt Gay K | IND
Colts' Matt Gay: Absent from field
Gay (sports hernia) is not practicing Thursday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Gay's status for Week 1 against the Texans is firmly in question after he underwent a procedure to address a sports hernia following the team's final preseason game Aug. 22. The team still hasn't elevated Spencer Shrader from the practice squad, but if Gay is unable to suit up, the former is the likeliest option to handle kicking duties for the Colts on Sunday.

Chase McLaughlin K | TB
Buccaneers' Chase McLaughlin: Tending to health concerns
McLaughlin didn't take part in Wednesday's practice due to an abdominal injury and an illness.
Both health concerns are new ones for McLaughlin, but he remains the only kicker on the Buccaneers' roster, active or otherwise, in advance of Sunday's contest versus the Commanders. Tampa Bay's practice reports Thursday and Friday should shed light on his potential to handle placekicking duties this weekend.

Dustin Hopkins K | CLE
Browns' Dustin Hopkins: Not on injury report
Hopkins (undisclosed) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Hopkins is ready to roll for Sunday's season opener against the Cowboys. The veteran kicker dealt with an undisclosed minor injury during the second half of August, but Hopkins never appeared at major risk of missing Week 1.

Eddy Pineiro K | CAR
Panthers' Eddy Pineiro: Avoids injury report entirely
Pineiro (hamstring) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Pineiro dealt with hamstring soreness late in the preseason, but he's now back to full health and is practicing without any limitations. Over the past two seasons Pineiro has converted just over 90 percent of both his field-goal attempts and extra-point tries with Carolina, but the Panthers offense may struggle to provide him ample scoring opportunities Sunday in a tough road matchup against the Saints.
