  • Six Vikings should be able to play Sunday

    Vikings LB Chad Greenway, CB A.J. Jefferson, T Phil Loadholt, WR Rodney Smith, K Blair Walsh and DT Kevin Williams are listed as probable Week 9 against the Cowboys.

    All six players were able to practice in full throughout the week. Loadholt was limited on Thursday due to an illness, but was left off the practice report Friday.

  • Caleb Sturgis makes it when it matters

    Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis got off to another poor start in Week 9 against the Bengals, but made his kicks when it counted in a 22-20 overtime win.

    Sturgis missed a 34-yard attempted in the first quarter, before connecting from 36 yards in the second. He then came up big in the fourth quarter, connecting on a 44-yarder to send the game to overtime. He also made two extra-point attempts.

    Sturgis is now 13 for 18 on field-goal attempts through his first eight games, with all five of his misses coming over the last four games. 

  • Greg Zuerlein finally misses

    After making his first 14 field goals this season, Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein missed a 50-yard attempt in the loss to the Seahawks. Earlier in the game he converted from 33, 28 and 27 yards out.

    Coming off that 9-point night, Zuerlein plays Tennessee in Week 9.

  • Blair Walsh K | ATL

    Blair Walsh gets one field-goal try

    Vikings kicker Blair Walsh converted his only field-goal try, a 36-yarder, in the loss to Green Bay. He's 10 of 12 this season.

    Walsh added four PATs for a seven-point night. He visits the Cowboys in Week 9.

  • Nick Folk one of few bright spots for Jets on Sunday

    Jets placekicker Nick Folk was the offense Sunday in Cincinnati. He nailed all three of his field goal attempts, including a 50-yarder in the third quarter. He added a 45-yard boot and 47-yarder in the second quarter.

    Folk has been perfect in 19 attempts this season.

  • Caleb Sturgis showing signs of weakness

    Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis has hit a rough patch, as he missed two field-goal attempts Sunday, in a 27-17 Week 8 loss. Sturgis connected from 52 yards, but missed one attempt and had another blocked.

    Sturgis added two successful extra-point attempts. Stafford is now 11 of 15 on field-goal tries this season, but has missed four of his last eight attempts.

  • Matt Bryant K | ATL

    Matt Bryant hits both attempts

    Falcons kicker Matt Bryant hit both his field goal attempts Week 8 against the Cardinals.

    Bryant hit from 24 and 30 yards in the first two quarters. He also hit the team's only extra point attempt late in the fourth quarter. Bryant will look to pick things up Week 9 against the Panthers. 

  • Matt Prater K | BUF

    Matt Prater not asked to do much Week 8

    Broncos kicker Matt Prater wasn't asked to do much as he kicked one field goal during Sunday's win over the Redskins in Week 8.

    Prater connected on a 19-yard attempt in the fourth quarter. He went 1 for 1 in field goal attempts and added four extra points in a 45-21 victory. He is 12 of 12 in field goal attempts this season.

  • Garrett Hartley misses two field goals

    Saints kicker Garrett Hartley finished with a season-low five points -- all on extra points -- Week 8 against the Bills, but it wasn't for a lack of opportunity. He attempted two field goals -- a 47-yarder in the first quarter and a 38-yarder in the second -- but missed them both.

    Hartley had made 14 of 16 field goals coming into the game. Kicking for the prolific Saints offense, he's still averaging 9.1 points per game.

  • Blair Walsh K | ATL

    Blair Walsh ready to kick

    Vikings kicker Blair Walsh, who was probable with a hamstring injury, is active for the game against the Packers. Walsh missed a 53-yard field goal at the Giants last week after converting the first 12 tries from 50-plus in his career.
