  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Booed by home crowd

Goff completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 222 yards during Sunday's 44-6 loss to the Eagles.

In addition to taking five sacks, Goff again was booed by his home crowd after intentionally throwing the ball away on a fourth down for yet another time this season. With Detroit now winless through eight games, it will be interesting to see if the Lions use their impending bye week to prepare David Blough to run the offense in Week 10. Tim Boyle (thumb), who recently began throwing footballs without a brace, could also be an option in the near future. However, neither of these guys have much upside to get excited about, especially on a team where the likes of Kalif Raymond stands as the No. 1 wide receiver.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Solid, mistake-free in Week 8 win

Allen completed 29 of 42 passes for 249 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 26-11 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed eight times for 55 yards and another score and fumbled once without turning it over.

While the final score shows a 15-point margin of victory, the actual flow of the contest was that of a much tougher win. Buffalo managed to pull away late with 16 fourth-quarter points, with Allen contributing a 19-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs early in the period. The star quarterback also helmed a time-consuming 14-play, 59-yard drive later in the quarter that culminated in a Tyler Bass 39-yard field goal and gave the Bills some all-important breathing room at 20-11 while also leaving Miami with just 3:33 on the clock. Allen's final numbers, which he padded with a seven-yard touchdown scamper to close things out with 1:07 remaining, were certainly fantasy-friendly enough, and he's now tossed multiple touchdown passes in six straight contests. Allen will look to continue his stellar run of play when the Bills travel to face the Jaguars in Week 9.

  • Bears' Justin Fields: Rushes for over 100 yards

Fields completed 19 of 27 passes for 175 yards, a touchdown and an interception while rushing 10 times for 103 yards and touchdown in the Bears' 33-22 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Fields had his first big game as a runner, showing elite rushing ability on a fourth down when he was about to be sacked, but he broke free, changed direction and raced through traffic for a touchdown. Despite his great running performance, that was his first rushing score since taking over as the starter, and he's averaging fewer than one touchdown pass and 200 yards per game. He'll be a risky fantasy option until he shows more consistency.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Hardly needs to pass in win

Hurts completed nine of his 14 passing attempts for 103 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added seven carries for 71 yards in Sunday's 44-6 win over the Lions.

The Eagles were able to run at will on Detroit and had a three-score lead at the half, so Hurts' arm took a back seat in this one. All of his passing numbers were season lows. On the bright side, he led the team in rushing. With a much better opposing offense on tap in the Chargers in Week 9, the 23-year-old will likely have to throw more to keep up the pace.

  • Sam Darnold QB | SEA

Panthers' Sam Darnold: Picks up concussion

Darnold sustained a concussion during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game in Atlanta, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Darnold took a hit to his upper right arm at the end of an eight-yard run and was slow to get up. He eventually made his way to the locker room, where he was diagnosed with a head injury. Now subject to NFL protocols to be able to return, Darnold will have exactly one week to pass all five phases and make himself available to the Panthers offense. In the meantime, though, P.J. Walker will take over for Darnold under center. Prior to exiting Sunday's contest, Darnold completed 13 of 24 passes for 129 yards and rushed eight times for 66 yards.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Dealing with sprained ankle

Murray is dealing with what Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports is a medial ankle sprain.

Per the report, the Cardinals are hoping that the extra rest afforded by the fact that the team played this past Thursday will give Murray enough time to recover in time for a Nov. 7 contest against the 49ers. With that in mind, the QB's status will be worth monitoring closely once Arizona resumes practicing ahead of Week 9 action. If Murray misses any time, Colt McCoy would be next up for reps.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Getting pins removed soon

Wilson is expected to have the pins removed from his surgically repaired right middle finger early this week, and the signal-caller continues to target the Seahawks' Week 10 game in Green Bay on Nov. 14 for a return to action, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

When he initially underwent the procedure Oct. 8, Wilson was projected to miss anywhere from 4-to-8 weeks, but the quarterback looks to be honing in on a return at the short end of that timeline. Wilson is said to be progressing well after having the stitches removed from his finger this past week, and he'll take another step forward in the recovery process if the pins are in fact removed in the coming days. Geno Smith will draw a third straight start in Wilson's stead Sunday against the Jaguars, but the latter looks on pace to be ready to go following the Seahawks' Week 9 bye. The Seahawks likely won't confirm whether Wilson is trending toward a Week 10 return until the coaching and training staffs have a chance to evaluate him in practice.

  • Cooper Rush QB | BAL

Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Staying ready for potential start

Rush took all of the Cowboys' team reps in practice this week, and some within the organization believe he'll start Sunday against the Vikings with top quarterback Dak Prescott's (ankle) status "up in the air," Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Even after a Week 7 bye, Prescott -- who is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff -- doesn't appear to have made a full recovery from the strained calf he suffered on the final play of Dallas' overtime win over the Patriots in Week 6. While Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network note that Prescott is pushing to play and will go through his normal pregame warmup routine, the franchise signal-caller was only able to take part in walk-through activities and 7-on-7 drills during practice this week. With that in mind, Dallas could be inclined to take a cautious approach with Prescott if there's any concern about his health coming out of warmups, potentially leaving Rush in line for his first extended regular-season action. Rush has previously made six appearances in his four-plus seasons in the NFL, logging only 29 snaps in total and attempting just three passes.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Remains game-time call for Week 8

Prescott's (calf) status for Sunday's game against the Vikings remains "up in the air" ahead of the contest's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Schefter notes that backup quarterback Cooper Rush took all the team reps in practice this past week and would be in line to draw the start if Prescott is unable to go. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Prescott is pushing to play and will go through his normal warmup routine prior to the contest before a final call on his status is made 90 minutes prior to kickoff, when Dallas releases its inactive list. Rapoport relays that if the Cowboys have any doubt about Prescott's ability to play through a right calf strain, the team could err on the side of caution with its franchise signal-caller. Given the Cowboys' late kickoff, Prescott is a risky fantasy option for those without an alternative to turn to in the event that he ends up inactive.

  • Josh Johnson QB | CIN

Jets' Josh Johnson: Officially elevated Saturday

Johnson has been elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Johnson will back up Mike White with Zach Wilson (knee) out and Joe Flacco unlikely to be ready in time for the game after joining the team Monday. If the 35-year-old Johnson were to see action, it would be his first appearance in a game since 2018.
