  • Jeff Driskel QB | WAS

Broncos' Jeff Driskel: Back from COVID-19 list

The Broncos activated Driskel off the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Driskel was placed on the list Nov. 29 after testing positive for the virus. His positive test forced the rest of the quarterback room in Denver onto the list as close contacts, ultimately leading to practice-squad receiver Kendall Hinton taking the reigns at quarterback. With Driskel back healthy, it's likely he'll take over the No. 2 job behind Drew Lock for Saturday's game against the Bills.

  • Lions' Matthew Stafford: Looking uncertain for Week 15

Stafford (ribs/thumb), who didn't practice Wednesday, said he has "no expectations" about his status for the Lions' Week 15 game at Tennessee, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Stafford said he's taking his rib cartilage injury "day by day," and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press relays that the Lions intend to wait until the end of the week to make a call on his status for Sunday's game. Interim head coach Darrell Bevell also noted that he's "totally comfortable" with the veteran signal-caller suiting up even if he can't get in any practice reps, but given that the 5-8 Lions are already essentially eliminated from the NFC playoff picture, it could make sense for Chase Daniel to draw a start if there's even a slight chance of Stafford aggravating his injury.

  • Nick Mullens QB | JAC

49ers' Nick Mullens: Likely starting again Sunday

Coach Kyle Shanahan indicated Mullens will remain the 49ers' starting quarterback for Sunday's game at Dallas, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Mullens continues to put up numbers on a weekly basis, but his six-game run as starter has resulted in a 1-5 record. A depleted roster can partly be to blamed, but he's still committed more turnovers (nine) than touchdown passes recorded (eight) during that stretch. Still, Shanahan plans to roll with Mullens down the stretch with Jimmy Garoppolo in the midst of his recovery from a severe high-ankle sprain.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Officially limited Wednesday

Jones (ankle/hamstring) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Jones was able to return from a right hamstring injury to start in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted the second-year quarterback sprained his left ankle in that contest. The fact Jones was able to handle some reps Wednesday is a decent sign that he's doing everything in his power to be available Week 15 versus the Browns. However, his status will be one to watch due to his further compromised health. If Jones sits out for a second time this season, Colt McCoy is ready and waiting for another start under center.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Ankle injury surfaces

Coach Joe Judge relayed Wednesday that Jones is dealing with another lower leg injury in addition to the hamstring issue he was previously managing, Tom Rock of Newsday reports.

More specifically, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that Jones suffered a sprained ankle in the Week 14 loss to the Cardinals, which marked the quarterback's return from a one-game absence caused by a right hamstring injury. Per Rock's report, the Giants will evaluate the signal-caller as the week rolls along, but Judge acknowledges that Jones may not be able to start Sunday's game against the Browns. If Jones can't go this weekend, Colt McCoy would step in as the team's starter.

  • Lions' Matthew Stafford: Not practicing to begin week

Stafford (ribs) won't practice Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

According to Birkett, the Lions are still planning to wait until the end of the week before deciding on Stafford's status for Sunday's game against the Titans. To that end, interim coach Darrell Bevell noted Wednesday that he's "totally comfortable" with Stafford not practicing this week, yet still playing when Sunday arrives. If Stafford isn't cleared to play, however, Chase Daniel would draw the start in his place.

  • Trace McSorley QB | WAS

Ravens' Trace McSorley: Lands on IR

McSorley (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

McSorley suffered a minor knee sprain in Monday's 47-42 win over the Browns, and he'll be required to sit out for the rest of the regular season. In the meantime, practice squad quarterback Tyler Huntley should serve as Lamar Jackson's backup until either McSorley or Robert Griffin (hamstring) is activated from IR.

  • Trace McSorley QB | WAS

    Ravens' Trace McSorley: Deemed week-to-week

McSorley suffered a minor knee sprain during Sunday's 47-42 win over the Browns, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

McSorley went down awkwardly while trying to escape the pocket in the fourth quarter. There was some concern that he could miss significant time, but the second-year quarterback is simply week-to-week. With Robert Griffin (hamstring) already on IR, the Ravens may need to call up Tyler Huntley from the practice squad to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup.

  • Lions' Matthew Stafford: Status cloudy for Week 15

Stafford has been diagnosed with a rib cartilage injury, which leaves his status cloudy for Sunday's game at Tennessee, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Stafford was removed from the Lions' Week 14 loss in the fourth quarter after getting sandwiched by two Packers defenders. Fortunately for the signal-caller, X-rays were returned negative, but the Lions aren't "optimistic" he'll be available Week 15. Stafford is notorious for playing through the pain, though, so his status -- especially at practice -- bears watching as the weekend approaches. If he's forced to miss his first game of the season Sunday, Stafford will yield QB duties to Chase Daniel.

  • Trace McSorley QB | WAS

Ravens' Trace McSorley: Set to undergo MRI

McSorley is believed to have suffered a knee sprain in Monday night's win over the Browns and will undergo an MRI to confirm, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

McSorley went down awkwardly trying to run for a first down Monday and was forced to leave the game. The belief is that McSorley's injury is not season-ending, but that won't be known for certain until the results of the MRI are revealed. Baltimore already has Robert Griffin (thigh) on injured reserve, so the team's depth behind Lamar Jackson would be in an untenable situation if McSorley is unavailable for even one game.
