Alex McGough QB | GB
Alex McGough: Let go from practice squad
The Texans cut McGough from the practice squad Monday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
McGough was the Texans' only practice squad quarterback, so the team is expected to pick up another player to serve as depth at the position. The 2018 seventh-round pick has yet to play an NFL snap since entering the league.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Status for Week 6 still uncertain
Coach Adam Gase was non-committal about the chances of Darnold (shoulder) suiting up against the Chargers in Week 6 on Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
"We'll kind of see how the week goes," Gase said when asked about Darnold's recovery from a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. Per Vacchiano, Gase called the injury "week-to-week." Joe Flacco was serviceable in his first start as a Jet during Sunday's loss to Arizona, a development which could lessen pressure for the team to rush Darnold back on the field. Gase said he expects to receive a more significant update on Darnold's health Wednesday.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: Will be monitored in practice
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Mayfield (ribs) is still sore and will be monitored leading up to the Browns' Week 6 contest in Pittsburgh, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Mayfield's X-rays turned up negative after the conclusion of Sunday's win over the Colts, which would seem to confirm that he's avoided serious injury. He even was able to retake the field versus Indianapolis in the fourth quarter after briefly being examined on the sideline. Mayfield himself said that he doesn't consider his availability to be in question, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, but the Browns nonetheless will closely evaluate how he holds up in practice.

Kyle Allen QB | BUF
Football Team's Kyle Allen: Should be good for Week 6
Allen (arm) is expected to be healthy enough to start against the Giants in Week 6, barring any setbacks, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Coach Ron Rivera has confirmed on multiple occasions that Allen will start Week 6 as long as he's healthy, and it looks as though the third-year quarterback's arm injury isn't severe enough to seriously jeopardize his availability. He was forced out of Sunday's loss to the Rams due to a hit to his non-throwing arm. Washington also has Alex Smith, who relieved Allen versus Los Angeles, on hand as a capable backup, in addition to 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Expects 4-to-6 month recovery
Prescott (ankle) received a 4-to-6-month recovery window after undergoing surgery Sunday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
Prescott, who was released from the hospital Monday, will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a right ankle compound fracture and dislocation in Sunday's 37-34 win over the Giants. Over five games in 2020, the 27-year-old compiled 1,856 passing yards and a 9:4 TD:INT, in addition to three rushing scores and a receiving touchdown. He'll now hand the reins of the offense over to Andy Dalton. Prescott's anticipated rehab window hints at optimism that he could return for 2021 without major complications, though he doesn't have a contract with the Cowboys beyond this season.

Ben DiNucci QB | DEN
Cowboys' Ben DiNucci: Could be thrust into backup role
DiNucci could find himself as the Cowboys' No. 2 quarterback following the season-ending ankle injury to Dak Prescott.
Andy Dalton will take over as the starting QB for Dallas, but that leaves a vacancy in the backup spot. DiNucci, a seventh-round pick in the 2020 draft, has yet to be active on game day, and if the coaching staff feels he's not yet ready to handle NFL action, the Cowboys could look to sign a veteran free agent to fill the No. 2 job. Until another quarterback joins the roster and gets up to speed on the playbook, however, DiNucci figures to be the backup, even if only by default.

Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Vikings' Kirk Cousins: Two TDS, two turnovers in loss
Cousins completed 27 of 39 pass attempts for 249 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a lost fumble in Sunday's 27-26 loss to the Seahawks.
Cousins did his best to keep his team in position for the win, but he eventually fell short to due to a Seattle comeback led by Russell Wilson. The 32-year-old continues to be a fantasy disappointment with 1,132 passing yards and an 8:7 TD:INT ratio through five games despite being surrounded by talented position players. A shoddy offensive line that allowed three sacks and two strip fumbles is part of the cause of thr offense's struggles, as Cousins was constantly met with pressure on five- and seven-step drops. The good news for the veteran signal-caller is that a very favorable matchup lies ahead in the form of the Atlanta Falcons, so Cousins may be a smart budget play in DFS formats for Week 6.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Adds three more scores in win
Wilson completed 20 of 32 pass attempts for 217 yards, three touchdowns and an interception while adding 58 rushing yards on five attempts in Sunday's comeback victory over the Vikings.
Wilson started the night a perfect 15-of-15 on pass attempts, and while he did have an uncharacteristic inaccurate interception in the second half, the magician was able to pull out another late comeback victory to keep Seattle undefeated. The early MVP talks surrounding the 31-year-old are well warranted given his pocket mobility, incredible accuracy at all three levels (72.7 completion percentage) and his knack to carry his team to victory in clutch moments. Wilson is a top-five fantasy quarterback heading into his bye week and will take on the Cardinals in Week 7.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Surgery deemed successful
Prescott has undergone successful surgery to address his right ankle compound fracture and dislocation Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Prescott had to undergo same-day surgery after suffering a devastating ankle injury against the Giants, and he'll now set his sights on what stands to be a long road to recovery. Given the severity of his injury, the Cowboys are expected to place Prescott on injured reserve in the near future while turning to Andy Dalton under center for the rest of the year. Prescott doesn't currently have a contract with Dallas beyond the 2020 season.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Cowboys' Andy Dalton: Leads comeback win in relief
Dalton completed nine of 11 passes for 111 yards in relief of Dak Prescott (ankle) during Sunday's 37-34 win over the Giants.
Entering the game after Prescott suffered a likely season-ending ankle injury, Dalton had some hiccups, including a fourth-quarter fumble on an exchange with rookie center Tyler Biadasz that resulted in a go-ahead TD by the Giants five plays later, but the veteran quarterback came through when it mattered and led the Cowboys to two field goals inside the final two minutes to secure the victory. Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed after the game that Dalton will be the team's No. 1 QB moving forward, per Jon Machota of The Athletic, and the long-time Bengal will make his first start for Dallas in Week 6 at home against Arizona.
