Brissett won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Bears, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports.

With Andrew Luck (calf/ankle) uncertain for Week 1, the Colts won't take any chances with one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league. Other key players, including Marlon Mack and T.Y. Hilton, aren't expected to participate Saturday.

Peterson completed 23 of 37 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's preseason win over the Packers.

The former Bill led the Raiders' offense on two scoring drives in the fourth quarter to engineer a comeback victory, finding De'Mornay Pierson-El for a seven-yard TD with a little over five minutes left in the game and then guiding the team into field-goal range for Daniel Carlson's 33-yard game-winner inside the final 10 seconds. Peterman remains stuck behind Derek Carr (who got the night off) and Mike Glennon (who played the first quarter Thursday) on the Oakland depth chart, but this performance could earn him a look from another club in need of a backup QB with some experience if he doesn't make the cut for the Raiders.

Boyle completed 16 of 25 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's preseason loss to the Raiders.

With the Packers holding out most of their starters, including Aaron Rodgers, Boyle got the start and led the offense on three consecutive scoring drives in the second quarter, firing TD passes to Trevor Davis and Jake Kumerow to cap the first two. The second-year QB didn't see a regular-season snap as a rookie, but he's completed 60.8 percent of his passes so far this preseason with a 5:0 TD:INT. Boyle could be pushing DeShone Kizer for Green Bay's No. 2 job.

Allen completed three of six passes for 16 yards in Thursday night's 10-3 preseason loss to the Patriots.

Allen entered after Cam Newton's three drives, which actually ended in Newton suffering an ankle sprain. Although Allen hardly produced in his latest opportunity, if Newton's Week 1 status is impacted by his ailment, either Allen or rookie Will Grier would seemingly grow in importance, perhaps making Carolina's backup race even more worthy of monitoring.

Keenum completed nine of 14 pass attempts for 101 yards in the team's third preseason contest against Atlanta.

Keenum led the team for their first five offensive possessions, which resulted in six points. He wasn't helped by his offensive line, as he was pressured almost immediately on a few plays, causing inaccurate throws. Still, this was Keenum's most promising appearance of the preseason, notably the first time he's completed more than half of his pass attempts. Rookie Dwayne Haskins put together a few impressive throws and will almost certainly push Keenum for the starting role at some point this season, though Keenum should still be considered the favorite to lead the team in Week 1 against Philadelphia.

Grier completed four of eight passes for 44 yards in Thursday night's 10-3 preseason loss to the Patriots.

Grier was the third Panthers quarterback to enter the game, featuring behind Cam Newton and Kyle Allen. However, with Newton leaving the contest with an ankle sprain and Allen connecting on just three of six attempts for 16 yards, Grier's situation could be one to track. Although neither he nor Allen have really impressed this preseason, if Newton's injury clouds his Week 1 status, Carolina's second-stringer would suddenly gain value, potentially making the team's determination between Grier and Allen all the more important.

McSorley completed 19 of 28 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns while adding six rushing yards and a touchdown on four carries in Thursday's 26-15 preseason win over the Eagles.

McSorley played the first three quarters of a game that was shortened due to lightning early in the fourth, and he put in a strong audition for slotting behind Lamar Jackson with Robert Griffin sidelined by a thumb injury. The 2019 sixth-rounder led a trio of second-quarter touchdown drives, taking it himself from four yards out before finding Michael Floyd for a 28-yarder and finally hitting Jaleel Scott for a seven-yard score seven seconds before halftime. McSorley didn't use his legs much outside of the touchdown run, but his 30 rushing scores in 46 college games suggest that he has a sizable running element to his game.

Dalton played three drives in Thursday's 25-23 preseason loss to the Giants, completing seven of 10 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Dalton was solid in this dress rehearsal, with the highlight of his night coming on his final pass -- a 26-yard touchdown to tight end C.J. Uzomah. With star wideout A.J. Green (ankle) unavailable to start the regular season, Dalton will need to continue relying on secondary weapons like Uzomah once the games start to count.

Jones completed nine of 11 passes for 141 yards in Thursday's 25-23 preseason win over Cincinnati. He also fumbled, but it was recovered by a teammate.

After Eli Manning played the opening drive, Jones was under center for the rest of the first half, looking solid in the process. The rookie first-rounder out of Duke has completed 25 of 30 passes this preseason, so the Giants should have no qualms about handing Jones the backup job to start the season.

Rodgers won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Raiders.

Rodgers is one of 33 Green Bay players not playing Thursday, a list that also includes Davante Adams, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams and Jimmy Graham. Rodgers' next chance to suit up will likely arrive in Week 1 of the regular season.
