  • Titans' Blaine Gabbert: Back at practice

Gabbert (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Gabbert technically remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, but his involvement in full practice suggests it likely won't be long before he gains full clearance. He'll presumably take over the backup duties behind Marcus Mariota in Sunday's game against the Bills after Austin Davis served as the Titans' No. 2 quarterback in the Week 4 win over the Eagles.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Rodgers (knee) was held out of Wednesday's practice, Michael Cohen of The Athletic reports.

On the heels of his first official practice session since Week 1 last Thursday, Rodgers had a modest showing during Sunday's win against the Bills, completing 22 of 40 passes for 298 yards, one touchdown and one interception. As he kicked off Week 5 preparations, he told Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com that he was "moving better" in that contest and believes his left knee is "not regressing." The latter point is key after Rodgers admitted Sept. 19 that the knee injury could worsen as he continues to play on it. Look for Rodgers to practice in some capacity Thursday, as he did a week ago, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Has surgery on torn ACL

Garoppolo (knee) had surgery Wednesday to repair a torn left ACL, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Garoppolo had the procedure less than two weeks after suffering the injury, which suggests the swelling in his knee wasn't too severe. He faces a lengthy rehab process, but the timing of the surgery should at least give him a good shot to be ready for Week 1 of the 2019 season. C.J. Beathard is expected to serve as the 49ers' starting quarterback for the remainder of the 2018 campaign.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

Browns' Tyrod Taylor: Logs full practice

    Taylor (back) practiced fully Wednesday.

Now fully recovered from a concussion and seemingly the back injury as well, Taylor is on track to dress in Sunday's game against the Ravens. After surrendering the starting gig to Baker Mayfield, Taylor will serve as the top backup option while Drew Stanton drops to the No. 3 role.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Won't practice Wednesday

Rodgers (knee) will be limited to working with the Packers' rehab group Wednesday, but it's expected he'll participate in practices Thursday and Saturday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Rodgers appears poised to follow the same practice regimen he did Week 4, so his lack of on-field reps Wednesday shouldn't be taken as a sign that he suffered a setback with his lingering left knee injury. Though the Packers earned a convincing 22-0 win over the Bills on Sunday, Rodgers turned in perhaps his most underwhelming performance of the season, completing only 22 of 40 passes for 298 yards, one touchdown and an interception. On a more positive note with regards to his health, Rodgers did demonstrate more mobility than he had in previous weeks, rushing for a season-high 31 yards on five carries.

  • Case Keenum QB | CHI

Broncos' Case Keenum: No touchdowns in defeat

Keenum completed 21 of 33 passes for 245 yards and an interception in Monday night's 27-23 loss to the Chiefs.

Keenum managed the game fairly well, but frustratingly finished with zero touchdown passes and one interception for the third straight week. Even more agonizing for him, he narrowly missed a wide-open Demaryius Thomas for what would've been the game-winning touchdown with under 30 seconds remaining. Stuck in a bit of a rut, Keenum will now be tasked with breaking his touchdown drought at the Jets in Week 5.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Leads comeback victory

Mahomes completed 28 of 45 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 27-23 win over the Broncos. He also rushed three times for seven yards and another score.

Mahomes' electric start to the season continued with another impressive performance. While his numbers weren't as gaudy as weeks prior, the second-year quarterback still led his team to a come-from-behind victory with numerous highlight throws, including one with his left hand. However, his first touchdown came thanks to his legs, as he ran in from eight yards during the second quarter. Although he didn't gain any more yards on the ground subsequently, Mahomes used his athleticism to extend several plays and do significant damage throwing from outside the pocket, paving the way for another 300-plus yard performance. Following his biggest test yet, Mahomes has a daunting showdown against the vaunted Jaguars defense at home Week 5.

  • Titans' Blaine Gabbert: Enters week in protocol

Gabbert is still in the concussion protocol, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Gabbert was sidelined for Week 4 while nursing a concussion and still hasn't made enough progress to start practicing. He'll need to be free of symptoms by the end of the week to have any chance of suiting up Sunday in Buffalo as Marcus Mariota's backup.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Returning to starting job

Winston will start against the the Falcons in Week 6 when the Buccaneers return from their bye, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Ryan Fitzpatrick predictably faded after a scorching start to the year, tossing three picks in a Week 3 loss to Pittsburgh and producing just three points on six drives in Sunday's 48-10 loss to the Bears. Winston did throw a pair of interceptions after replacing Fitzpatrick on Sunday, but the 24-year-old at least had some success moving the ball. Winston will return to action against a soft Atlanta defense with the help of a deep group of receiving weapons, though he may not have O.J. Howard (knee) at his disposal.

  • C.J. Beathard QB | JAC

49ers' C.J. Beathard: Throws two touchdowns in loss

Beathard completed 23 of 37 pass attempts for 298 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Chargers. He added 19 yards on seven carries.

Although he can't count on 82-yard touchdowns to the tight end every week, Beathard was surprisingly solid in his first start in place of Jimmy Garoppolo (knee), including a touchdown drive on San Francisco's second possession of the day. The 23-year-old will need to take better care of the ball going forward, however, as his career 6:8 touchdown-to-interception ratio leaves much to be desired. Still, this performance leaves plenty of room for optimism regarding the 49ers offense as a whole as they prepare to host Arizona in Week 5.
