Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Feeling sore after Week 1 loss
Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said Carr is dealing with some soreness after the team's 33-13 loss to the Rams on Monday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Gruden didn't specify where exactly the quarterback is aching, but it's worth noting that Carr seemed to be hurting after taking a low hit from All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald early in the contest. The soreness didn't prevent Carr from finishing out the Week 1 loss, but he took another hard hit in the fourth quarter that could result in the 27-year-old's reps being managed carefully during the upcoming week. It's not expected that Carr is in any serious danger of sitting out Sunday in Denver, where he'll have nowhere to go but up after throwing three interceptions and turning in a 62.8 quarterback rating in the season opener.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Picked off three times in season opener
Carr completed 29 of 40 passes for 303 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions while adding one yard on two carries in Monday's 33-13, Week 1 loss to the Rams.
Carr showed a tremendous rapport with tight end Jared Cook, hitting him nine times for 180 yards. Unfortunately for Oakland, that strong connection was overshadowed by a trio of costly mistakes. Carr's first interception came with his team well in field-goal range and leading 10-7 in the second quarter. His second and third turnovers occurred while down two possessions in the fourth, with the last one getting returned 50 yards to the house by Marcus Peters. A silver lining for Carr is that new coach Jon Gruden allowed him to air the ball out 40 times while Oakland's trio of running backs combined for 20 carries.

Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Tosses two scores in Week 1 win
Goff completed 18 of 33 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns without an interception in Monday's 33-13, Week 1 win at Oakland.
Goff had just seven completions with less than two minutes left in the third quarter, but he exploded for 55 yards on his next three passes, including an eight-yard touchdown to Cooper Kupp to break a 13-13 tie on the last play of the quarter. He also had a 19-yard touchdown pass to Todd Gurley in the first quarter and showed a good rapport with offseason addition Brandin Cooks, who finished with a team-high 87 receiving yards on five catches.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Looks good in debut
Darnold completed 16 of 21 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Monday night's 48-17 win over the Lions.
Darnold's first career throw couldn't have been any worse, as he rolled right before winging the ball back across the field for an interception that was returned for a touchdown. After that blunder, however, the rookie settled in quite admirably, leading a number of scoring drives and showing good third-down efficiency. Darnold's first touchdown came on a 41-yard toss to Robby Anderson to close the first half, and then he connected with Quincy Enunwa on a 21-yard score on New York's opening drive of the second half. Overall, this year's third overall pick won't remember his first attempt fondly, but the way he rallied certainly deemed his debut a success.

Matthew Stafford QB | LAR
Lions' Matthew Stafford: Dreadful in blowout loss
Stafford completed 27 of 46 passes for 286 yards, a touchdown and four interceptions in Monday night's 48-17 loss to the Jets.
Stafford endured a disastrous start to this season. The lone bright spot of his performance was a 24-yard touchdown to Golden Tate to begin the third quarter. Besides that, he threw two interceptions on both sides of halftime, including one that was easily returned for a touchdown. Furthermore, he took a cleat to the leg during the first half and was forced into a one-play exit after being crunched by two defenders while throwing during the third quarter. With his team down 31 points, Stafford was mercifully taken out with around eight minutes left in the game. In the wake of the fifth four-interception outing of his career, Stafford will be desperate for a vastly improved showing Sunday versus the 49ers.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Sees heavy playing time in debut
Jackson completed one of four passes for 24 yards Sunday against the Bills and added seven carries for 39 yards.
The Ravens turned to Jackson in the third quarter after getting out to a 40-0 lead, but he also had five plays in the first half in which he was on the field with Joe Flacco, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. "We wanted to establish him as a threat quickly, not a possible threat. We wanted him to go out there and make plays and generate plays for us," coach John Harbaugh said after the game. Jackson's main duty after taking over in the third quarter was to help run out the clock in a blowout, but his snaps in the first half suggest that he will be involved in the offense in some capacity moving forward. The Ravens have a quick turnaround before returning to action Thursday against the Bengals. Look for Jackson to get on the field in two-quarterback sets on occasion Week 2.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Week 2 decision still looms
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that he hasn't made up his mind yet between starting Nathan Peterman or Allen in this week's game against the Chargers, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. "There are a lot of things that would go into that decision," McDermott said in reference to Allen "To get into all the things that I have to look at and consider, it's not as simple as some might think. I've got to look at the overall team in all three phases and Josh's development being one of them."
Allen performed better than Peterman in Sunday's drubbing, but both quarterbacks made mistakes and the team may not be ready to start its prized rookie just yet. That said, Peterman hasn't finished any of his three NFL starts, and the Bills looked so bad Week 1 that it may be time to turn the page to the future sooner rather than later. We'll find out in the next day or two if the future is now.

Nathan Peterman QB | ATL
Bills' Nathan Peterman: Still in mix to start
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that he's still evaluating Peterman and Josh Allen, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
Peterman was replaced by the rookie in the third quarter of Sunday's 47-3 loss to Baltimore after completing just five of 18 passes for 24 yards with a pair of interceptions. Allen only completed six of 15 passes for 74 yards, but he at least managed to avoid turnovers while closing out the game in garbage time. The Bills don't seem to be in any rush to name a starter for a Week 2 matchup with a Chargers team that memorably picked Peterman off five times last year. Even if it doesn't happen this week, Allen likely will take over the starting job soon enough.

Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Titans' Marcus Mariota: Still being evaluated
Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that Mariota (elbow) is still being evaluated, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Vrabel didn't have any real answers for the media, merely saying he's hopeful to get a good report once testing on Mariota's right elbow/arm is complete. The 24-year-old quarterback played through the injury for much of Sunday's 27-20 loss to Miami, but he was replaced by Blaine Gabbert in the third quarter after throwing interceptions on consecutive snaps. The sequence of events was made all the more unusual by the lengthy weather delays that marred Sunday's game, as the back-to-back interceptions actually took place a few hours apart. In any case, Mariota spoke with the media after the game and revealed that he lost some feeling in his fingers and right hand.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: No decisions made for Week 2
Coach Mike McCarthy said he has some information on Rodgers' knee injury but hasn't yet made a decision on the quarterback's status for Week 2 against the Vikings, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. "We're still collecting all the information on his specific situation," McCarthy said. "I know Aaron wants to play and is always driven to play but that's all I have right now."
Rodgers is scheduled for additional testing Monday after bouncing back from a left knee injury to throw for 273 yards and three touchdowns in the second half of Sunday's 24-23 comeback win over the Bears. McCarthy told the media he already has some information about the injury, but he declined to offer any specifics or speculate on Rodgers' availability for a Week 2 matchup with the Vikings. Given the opponent, Rodgers probably wouldn't be too receptive to the idea of taking a cautious approach. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Packers want to see how Rodgers' knee responds once the swelling dissipates.
