Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Redskins' Kirk Cousins: Commits three turnovers in loss to Eagles
Cousins completed 23 of 40 pass attempts for 240 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's game against the Eagles. He also rushed four times for 30 yards and lost a pair of fumbles in the 30-17 loss.
Cousins struggled to connect consistently with his receivers and completed just 58 percent of his passes on the day. He also committed some untimely turnovers as his team trailed into the fourth quarter, including an interception in the red zone and a dubious fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Cousins did display a developing rapport with new target Terelle Pryor and was effective as a runner. He will look to bounce back from a lackluster season debut next week against the Rams.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Texans' Deshaun Watson: Enters to start second half Sunday
Watson entered Sunday's season opener against the Jaguars to begin the second half, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After Tom Savage produced more than 20 yards on two of seven first-half possessions, head coach Bill O'Brien pulled his starting quarterback for the rookie. If he revives the offense, Watson will likely hold onto the gig moving forward.

Joshua Dobbs QB | DET
Steelers' Joshua Dobbs: Inactive Week 1
Dobbs (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns, Teresa Varley of Steelers.com reports.
The Steelers have elected to dress only two quarterbacks in Week 1, with Landry Jones serving as Ben Roethlisberger's backup. Dobbs' first game on the active roster will have to wait, while it remains to be seen if Pittsburgh plans to keep the 2017 fourth-rounder sidelined in Week 2 as well.
-
Bryce Petty QB | MIA
Jets' Bryce Petty: Inactive for Week 1
Petty is inactive for Sunday's season-opener against the Bills.
As a result, for Week 1 at least, veteran starter Josh McCown will be backed up by second-year signal-caller Christian Hackenberg.

Sefo Liufau QB | TB
Sefo Liufau: Reaches injury settlement
Liufau (knee) reached an injury settlement with the Buccaneers on Friday, per the official NFL transaction log.
Liufau is now free to sign elsewhere should he be healthy enough to play. The 22-year-old completed 20 of 33 pass attempts for 201 yards with one touchdown and one interception in two preseason games with Tampa Bay.

Connor Shaw QB | CHI
Connor Shaw: Reaches injury settlement
Shaw (hamstring) was waived off injured reserve Friday after he and the Bears came to an agreement on an injury settlement, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Shaw was never expected to make the team's final roster, as both Mike Glennon and rookie Mitchell Trubisky were essentially locks to make the cut. The 25-year-old would have had to spend the year on IR if he and the team could not reach a settlement, but he's now free to find a new opportunity when he returns to full health.

Matt Barkley QB | JAC
Matt Barkley: Works out for Patriots
Barkley was reportedly one of three QBs who worked out for the Patriots on Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
It remains to be seen if the Patriots add a quarterback in short order, or if the team is simply compiling a list of potential options to turn to should the team either choose to carry a third signal caller or be forced to sign one down the road in the event of injury.

Jake Coker QB | ARI
Jake Coker: No plans to return to football
Coker (knee) has no plans to continue his playing career, Creg Stephenson of AL.com reports. "I'm just going to move on," Coker said earlier this year. "I had another surgery when I was with the Cardinals, and that was kind of the last thing. I didn't want another surgery. I'm just kind of ready to move on. I'm excited about what's ahead."
Coker, who suffered a knee injury that required surgery in the summer prior to the 2016 season, appears content in hanging up the cleats. We'd be very surprised if he resurfaces in any level of competitive football.

Paxton Lynch QB | PIT
Broncos' Paxton Lynch: Not preparing to throw
Lynch (shoulder) has no timetable to resume throwing, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
The Broncos' decision not to place Lynch on the Physically Unable to Perform list suggest the team believes the quarterback will be healthy in time to return by Week 7, but it seems likely that he'll at least miss a few games while he recovers from the shoulder injury. Until Lynch is cleared to begin throwing, it will be difficult to project when he'll be available to dress again, but the Broncos won't have much need for him anyway with coach Vance Joseph committing to Trevor Siemian as his starting quarterback earlier in training camp.

Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN
Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Leapfrogs Sanchez on depth chart
Trubisky will start the season as Chicago's No. 2 quarterback, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.
Trubisky leapfrogged Mark Sanchez for the top backup job after completing 36 of 53 passes for 364 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions during the preseason. Instead of watching Sunday's opener against the Falcons strictly from a student's perspective, he'll have to be ready to take the field if Mike Glennon gets injured or benched. Sanchez likely will be inactive for the Week 1 contest.
