  • Bryce Petty QB | MIA

Jets' Bryce Petty: Expects to play Saturday

Petty (chest) expects to play in Saturday's game against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Petty injured his chest in last week's loss to the Dolphins when he was sandwiched by two defenders, but he said he was not limited while throwing Tuesday and is anticipating playing Saturday with a protective pad. A final call on Petty's availability for Week 16 will be made later this week, but for now, it seems there is plenty of reason to be optimistic about him suiting up.

  • Ryan Nassib QB | JAC

Giants' Ryan Nassib: Placed on IR

Nassib (elbow) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan reports.

Nassib has been bothered by a sore elbow for much of the past two months, and with the quarterback apparently not showing enough improvement, he'll be shut down for the final two weeks of the season. Josh Johnson will continue to serve as the backup to starting quarterback Eli Manning the rest of the way.

  • Kirk Cousins QB | LV

Redskins' Kirk Cousins: Commits two turnovers in loss

Cousins completed 32 of 47 passes for 315 yards and an interception, while rushing twice for 11 yards and losing a fumble in Monday night's loss to the Panthers.

Cousins actually led the Redskins in rushing yards, evidencing just how reliant Washington was forced to become on passing over the course of Monday's contest. In throwing 47 times, Cousins was able to top the 300-yard mark for the seventh time this season, but the Redskins have surprisingly won just one of those games thus far. Besides his team losing for the third time in its last our outings, the fact that Cousins turned the ball over twice and didn't account for a touchdown while facing the league's last-ranked passing defense didn't help his fantasy stock, either. Cousins will look to rebound with an improved performance Saturday against the Bears.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Rams' Jared Goff: Remains in concussion protocol

Goff remains day-to-day while undergoing concussion protocol, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN reports.

Goff completed 13 of 25 passes for 135 yards before being knocked out of Thursday's loss to the Seahawks. He was present during the team's Monday walk-through, but has yet to be cleared for action. The team hopes to make a decision by Thursday on whether or not he will be able to start in Sunday's matchup against the 49ers. They would reportedly consider placing Sean Mannion under center to see what he has to offer if Goff cannot go, as Case Keenum will become a free agent this offseason.

  • Tom Savage QB | DET

Texans' Tom Savage: Named Texans starter

Texans coach Bill O'Brien announced Monday that Savage will start at quarterback Saturday against the Bengals.

Savage claims Houston's starting job after leading a comeback victory and completing 23 of 36 passes for 260 yards Sunday against the Jaguars. With three years of experience in coach O'Brien's system, and given Brock Osweiler's consistent struggles, Savage will get a chance to lead the Texans' offense in search of a playoff berth. Although this Saturday will mark his first career start, and just his fourth appearance since entering the league in 2014, Savage showed a good rapport while helping top wideout DeAndre Hopkins finish with eight receptions (on 17 targets) for 87 yards Sunday, which could provide him a reliable outlet against Cincinnati's 23rd-ranked defense.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Calf condition improving

According to Packers coach Mike McCarthy, Rodgers' injured calf is doing better Monday than it was going into Sunday's victory over the Bears.

Rodgers engineered a heroic, game-winning drive Sunday despite not practicing all last week due to his calf problem. Besides obviously appearing less mobile, Rodgers was mostly his usual self despite the ailment, calming concerns of his fantasy owners. McCarthy's update on his calf Monday should provide further encouragement, especially since Rodgers has one less day to be ready for this weekend's game, which falls on Saturday versus the Vikings. While Rodgers' condition will continue to be evaluated over the course of this week, it wouldn't be surprising at all if he remains restricted in Green Bay's practice preparations to ensure he's not overextended ahead of another crucial contest.

  • Tom Savage QB | DET

Texans' Tom Savage: Could become starter

Savage is anticipated to assume the Texans' starting quarterback duties, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Savage completed 23 of 36 passes for 260 yards while leading the Texans to a big comeback victory over the Jaguars on Sunday, when Brock Osweiler was pulled prior to halftime after yet another poor performance. While Osweiler's four-year, $72 million contract seemingly allowed him to test Houston's patience with his play to its limit, coach Bill O'Brien reflected on the team's quarterback situation after Sunday's win by saying, "We don't make decisions on how much a guy gets paid." That sentiment seems to suggest the Texans have no problem switching to Savage to close this season, but O'Brien will need to confirm any change before fantasy owners can take Savage more seriously.

  • Bryce Petty QB | MIA

Jets' Bryce Petty: Tests check out fine

Petty only suffered a bruised chest during Saturday night's loss to the Dolphins, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Petty was feared to have suffered lung damage after being knocked out of Saturday's loss, but tests since then have fortunately checked out alright. As it stands, it's unknown if Petty's injury will impact his ability to practice this week or play Saturday against the Patriots, so his situation will need to be monitored as the week unfolds.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Throws three interceptions in loss to Cowboys

Winston completed 17 of 35 pass attempts for 247 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions during Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Cowboys. He also gained six yards on his only carry and lost a fumble.

Winston came alive with touchdown passes to Adam Humphries and Cameron Brate in the third quarter, but his inability to take care of the ball doomed his team's fate against a rebounding Cowboys team. He hadn't turned the ball over more than once since the fourth week of the season, but his inability to establish a rhythm with Mike Evans and several forced throws contributed to his rough outing. Winston has taken a step in the right direction this season and is a bounce-back candidate heading into next week's road game against the Saints.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Manages offense to win over Buccaneers

Prescott completed 32 of 36 pass attempts for 273 yards in Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. He also gained 20 yards and found the end zone on four carries.

The rookie had been much maligned over the last three weeks for failing to top 200 passing yards a single time, but he responded by completing an absurd 89 percent of his passes and did not turn the ball over in this important win. Prescott did not throw for a touchdown for the first time since Week 2 but he was able to effectively manage the offense to the tune of 464 yards against a solid defensive opponent. With the critics likely to ease off for a week, Prescott will lead the Cowboys into next week's matchup with the Lions.
