Gabbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 15 tilt versus the Falcons, the team's official site reports.

Gabbert will be a somewhat surprising inactive, leaving Christian Ponder to serve as Colin Kaepernick's backup against the Falcons. Given the dire straits the Niners' season is in, head coach Chip Kelly may not hesitate to see what Ponder can do if Kaepernick struggles, or if the game turns into a blowout.

Nassib is inactive Sunday due to an elbow injury, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv reports.

Nassib has been dealing with the elbow aliment on and off throughout the season, and it caused him to sit out games earlier in the year as well. Josh Johnson will serve as the Giants' immediate backup to Eli Manning with Nassib on the sideline.

Tannehill (ACL/MCL) is still hoping he can return in Week 17 or in the playoffs should the Dolphins qualify, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Tannehill has said a report that his MCL was torn completely off the bone is untrue. If this was accurate, surgery would be a necessity, but as of now, the team and player are hoping that rest and rehabilitation will get the job done. There also has to be some worry that returning too soon from the injury could lead to a complete tear, reconstructive surgery and a much longer rehab.

Rodgers (calf) is active for Sunday's game at Chicago.

Rodgers' mobility has been a bit compromised in recent weeks due to hamstring and calf injuries, the latter of which wiped away all practice reps in anticipation of this divisional tilt. With low single-digit temperatures and gusty conditions expected in the Windy City, he'll have to contend with weather not especially conducive to lower-body concerns. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the preceding induced the Packers to add a third quarterback (Joe Callahan) to the 53-man roster. Nevertheless, Rodgers will attempt to extend his streak with multiple touchdown throws to nine contests.

Petty will undergo a CT scan Sunday to determine if he suffered damage to his lung during Saturday's game against the Dolphins, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Petty left Saturday's game because of the injury, and while X-rays were negative, it's possible he has an issue with his lung. Petty completed 20 of 36 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown Saturday, though he also threw two interceptions and lost a fumble. If he is unable to play next week against the Patriots, Ryan Fitzpatrick could be back under center ahead of Christian Hackenburg.

Petty's injury that forced him to leave Saturday's game is a chest injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

X-rays following the game were negative, but Petty will undergo further testing Sunday.
