Blaine Gabbert QB | KC
49ers' Blaine Gabbert: Could lose starting job
The 49ers' staff is meeting Monday to discuss whether Gabbert or Colin Kaepernick will start Sunday's game in Buffalo, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Gabbert has been consistently bad since Week 1, with his surprising rushing production negated (and then some) by his complete lack of accuracy. He's completing just 58 percent of his passes for 5.9 yards per attempt this season, with five touchdowns and six interceptions, though it's only fair to note that he doesn't have much help. The only other argument in Gabbert's favor is the distinct possibility Kaepernick could be worse, especially considering that the latter still hasn't quite regained all the weight he lost after having three surgical procedures in the offseason. A decision may be announced soon, but either way, running back Carlos Hyde remains the only trustworthy weapon in a flailing San Francisco offense.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Will remain the starter
Coach Adam Gase stated Monday that Tannehill will remain the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
This comes after fans in Miami were calling for his release both during and after the game versus Tennessee on Sunday. Tannehill has been below average once again this season and may have even regressed, but the bottom line is that the Dolphins don't have a young future NFL starter on their roster. Tannehill only has to worry about Matt Moore, and it is unlikely that he would be a significant upgrade. It's Tannehill or bust in south Florida this year.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Still expected to give way to Romo
Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said Sunday that Tony Romo (back) is still the team's No. 1 quarterback, but Jones also added that the team will have the luxury of seeing both Prescott and Romo, ESPN.com reports. "We're going to have the luxury of being able to, I think, see them both," Jones said. "Now I don't want to take anything -- presume that Dak is going to be necessarily healthy. I don't want to presume anything like that, but I welcome the opportunity of having Dak playing at this level and Tony back in excellent health."
Although Jones clearly stated that Romo is still the team's No. 1 quarterback, the rest of the owner/GM's quote is a bit confusing, as it seems to suggest Prescott could retain some kind of role. Given that Jones is often misleading or unclear when he speaks to the media, it's probably unwise to make any assumptions based on his comments, even if he elaborates further in the coming days and weeks. While Prescott has unquestionably been fantastic, especially for a rookie, the most likely scenario still has Romo retaking the reins whenever he is physically ready. The most likely date is Week 8 -- Oct. 30 against the Eagles -- as the Cowboys have a Week 7 bye. Of course, even if Romo does take the job back without any questions, he won't have the same long leash he had in past seasons. As for the immediate future, Prescott will face the Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 6, while Romo is scheduled for an MRI on Monday. The MRI may show that Romo's compression fracture has fully healed, which would allow him to start preparing for his return.

Trevor Siemian QB | ATL
Broncos' Trevor Siemian: Week 6 return expected
Siemian (shoulder) is expected to return for Thursday's game against the Chargers, NFL.com reports
Siemian's sprained non-throwing shoulder caused him to sit out Sunday's loss to the Falcons, when rookie Paxton Lynch had a tough time in his stead. While the Broncos were dealt their first loss of this season with Siemian sidelined, his rest over the weekend is expected to allow him to return for this Thursday's Week 6 matchup versus the Chargers. Siemian's practice workload was increasing prior to him being deemed inactive Sunday, so it's likely that he'll continue to build on that involvement before reclaiming Denver's starting gig later this week.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Makes up for poor efficiency with volume
Rodgers completed 23 of 45 passes for 259 yards, with two touchdowns, two interceptions and 17 rushing yards in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Giants.
Rodgers turned in a rare inefficient home performance against a solid Big Blue defense, but he still managed a decent fantasy outing thanks to his team's dominance of possession. He was unusually out of sync with top receiver Jordy Nelson, who caught just four passes for 38 yards and a touchdown on a team-high 13 targets. While yet to turn in a true clunker, Rodgers also hasn't had any of the huge games that were so frequent prior to last season. Even last week's four-touchdown outing wasn't overwhelming from a fantasy standpoint, as he only threw for 205 yards, limited by a lack of second-half volume. Rodgers has mostly come through for his team when needed most, but it's impossible not to worry about his sub-60 completion percentage and sub-7.0 YPA. It can no longer be assumed that it's merely a matter of time before he starts to put up the kind of elite numbers that were taken for granted from 2011 to 2014. However, it also isn't out of the question, and he will be back at Lambeau Field the next two weeks, first facing the Cowboys and then taking on the Bears.

Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Redskins' Kirk Cousins: Wins third straight start Sunday
Cousins completed 29 of 41 pass attempts for 260 yards, a touchdown and an interception during Sunday's 16-10 win over the Ravens.
Cousins' only touchdown pass of the day came on a 21-yard connection with Pierre Garcon as part of a 10-point third quarter that ultimately decided the game. He was unable to throw for multiple scores for the first time since Week 3, but he tasted victory for the third straight game. Cousins will look to make it four straight in Week 6 versus a sound Eagles defensive unit.
-
Paxton Lynch QB | PIT
Broncos' Paxton Lynch: Under fire in first career start
Lynch completed 23 of 35 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and a pick. He rushed for 18 yards, but fumbled twice, both recovered by the offense.
Lynch's uneven stat-line flatters what was a rough first start for the first-rounder. He didn't deliver is lone touchdown of the game until the game was all but over and he was constantly under fire, absorbing six sacks and many more hits. Some of those sacks were the product of Atlanta taking advantage of Denver's shuffled offensive line, but others were due to Lynch's inability to get rid of the ball quickly enough. There were points in the game where Lynch showed off the rocket arm and escapability that made him a top pick, but he did nothing to threaten Trevor Siemian's hold on the starting job once his shoulder heals.
-
Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Throws for 317 yards and two scores in win over San Diego
Carr completed 25 of 40 passes for 317 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Chargers.
Without CB Jason Verrett (knee), Carr was able to shred the Chargers' secondary, including a beautiful 64-yard touchdown to Amari Cooper in the third quarter. Carr has been a little boom-or-bust this season, with two big games and a pair of clunkers in the Raiders' previous four contests, so the consistency hasn't been there. In any case, he'll be at home again next week, facing another division rival in the Chiefs.

Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Titans' Marcus Mariota: Bounces back in win over Dolphins
Mariota completed 20 of 29 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns while also contributing 60 yards and a touchdown on seven carries in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.
Mariota hadn't produced a touchdown in two weeks, but broke out of his funk in a big way by tying his career high with four total scores. The second-year quarterback took matters into his own hands on Tennessee's first scoring drive, showcasing his scrambling ability on a five-yard touchdown run. He would add a passing score to Andre Johnson from the same distance later before topping off his best half of the season with a 20-yard touchdown toss to Delanie Walker. Mariota wasn't asked to do much in the second half with the Titans sitting on a lead, but did manage to connect with Rishard Matthews for his third passing touchdown of the afternoon in the fourth quarter. The Titans set a new season high in points for the second consecutive week, so they're trending in the right direction heading into next week's meeting with the winless Browns.

Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Bills' Tyrod Taylor: Leads Bills to third straight win
Taylor had a pedestrian day during Sunday's win in Los Angeles, passing for just 124 yards on 12-of-23 passing, though he did toss two TD passes while adding 28 yards on the ground.
Taylor has been fully healthy for all but a handful of snaps this season, yet somehow he's thrown for less than 125 yards in three of the team's five games. Even more surprisingly, the Bills have won two of those three games and are 8-1 over the last two seasons whenever Taylor throws for under 200 yards. That should tell you all you need to know about how much the Bills prefer to run the ball, though at least Taylor holds up in that aspect, as he's rushed for 168 yards and a score so far. His six TD passes are OK, while Taylor doesn't hurt you much in leagues that track interceptions, as he has just two so far after putting up a 20:6 TD:INT ratio last season.
