Case Keenum QB | CHI
Rams' Case Keenum: Dismal in season-opening loss
Keenum completed 17 of 35 passes for 130 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions in Monday night's season-opening loss to the 49ers.
Keenum's performance was hard to watch Monday, as he controlled a Rams offense that failed to score and was forced to punt 10 times. Los Angeles' de facto starting quarterback, Keenum averaged a dreadful 3.7 yards per attempt and turned the ball over on both sides of halftime. Although the sledding doesn't get any easier next weekend, when the Rams host the Seahawks, Keenum's showing Monday only figures to increase calls for top pick Jared Goff's standing to be expedited, whether he's ready or not.

Blaine Gabbert QB | KC
49ers' Blaine Gabbert: Plays mistake-free football in win Monday
Gabbert completed 22 of 35 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 28-0 win over Los Angeles. He added 43 rushing yards on nine carries and did not commit a turnover.
Gabbert played the role of game manager in his debut for Chip Kelly's offense. The majority of his completions were made on short and safe throws to his wideouts and running backs. Anytime he attempted to go further than 15 yards his throws became errant. The greatest example of this was in the first quarter when he had Jeremy Kerley wide open down the field and overshot his receiver in what would have been a certain long touchdown. On the positive side, Gabbert displayed his athleticism by rushing for several first downs and finishing with 43 yards on the ground. His running ability could give him sneaky value in weeks with a good matchup, but the veteran's lack of downfield touch makes him a low-end option at quarterback.

Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Redskins' Kirk Cousins: Two interceptions in loss
Cousins completed 30 of 43 passes for 329 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Monday night's season-opening loss to the Steelers.
Cousins and the Redskins offense struggled without a running game Monday night, when a second-half deficit also worked against Cousins to put him in predictable passing situations. Although playing from behind helped him accumulate over 300 yards while completing passes to eight different receivers, Cousins was at fault on a few throws, which resulted in two interceptions and zero touchdowns. His second pick came in the game's final minute from three yards out, ruining an opportunity to end his night on a positive note. After a disappointing Week 1 showing, Cousins and the Redskins will aim to bounce back at home against the Cowboys this Sunday.

Cardale Jones QB | LAC
Bills' Cardale Jones: Limited in Monday's practice
Jones (shoulder) was a limited participant in Monday's practice.
Jones was considered questionable heading into Week 1, and ended up as an inactive. The Bills have a short week, as they play Thursday against the Jets. This will leave Jones limited in recovery time heading into the matchup. Regardless, both Tyrod Taylor and backup EJ Manuel are considered healthy.
-
Jared Goff QB | DET
Rams' Jared Goff: Inactive for Monday's game
Goff is a healthy scratch for Monday's game in San Francisco, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
As expected, Goff will open his NFL career in street clothes, with Sean Mannion backing up Case Keenum. The roles may be reversed for Week 2, depending on how Goff and Mannion look at practice during the upcoming week. Either way, Keenum seems to have some margin for error in the starting role.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Expected to practice Wednesday
Wilson (ankle) is expected to be a participant in Wednesday's practice, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports. "He's pretty good," head coach Pete Carroll said Monday. "He's not in a boot. He's walking around and he's practicing on Wednesday."
Wilson was clearly gimpy after a errant step from Ndamukong Suh landed on his ankle during Sunday's win against the Dolphins, but a slew of tests have revealed that the quarterback doesn't have any structural damage. Appearances at practice this week could be accompanied by a cap in reps in order to preserve him for game day, thereby affording backup QB Trevone Boykin some work with the first team. However, Carroll expects Wilson to be ready to roll once Sunday's contest at Los Angeles arrives, according to Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.com.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Injury downplayed by Carroll
Wilson has a sprained ankle, but coach Pete Carroll said it is "nothing very serious," and he is expected to play Week 2 against the Rams, ESPN's Sheil Kapadia reports.
Carroll said X-rays and tests did not show any structural damage, but that it might be tough for Wilson to practice this week because of swelling. The Seahawks could bring in a veteran quarterback this week, as rookie Trevone Boykin, who had a mediocre preseason, is the backup. "He's got a sprained ankle, a little bit of swelling and he'll make it through," Carroll said. "How could you think otherwise?"

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Ankle could impact availability
Wilson's sprained ankle could impact his availability during practice this week, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Wilson tweaked his ankle after accidentally being stepped on by Ndamukong Suh during the second half of Sunday's narrow win over the Dolphins. Although he didn't miss any plays due to the ailment, he was seen sporting heavy tape on his ankle and was noticeably less mobile following the incident. According to Rapoport, Wilson's availability could be impacted by the injury, so it'll be worth monitoring his practice involvement level this week to get a better read on his situation ahead of next Sunday's game versus the Rams. Regardless, it wouldn't be surprising if the Seahawks signed a veteran quarterback this week, as rookie Trevone Boykin represents their lone backup for Wilson at the moment.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Steady in Sunday's win over Jaguars
Rodgers completed 20 of 34 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Jaguars. He added another 16 yards and a touchdown via four carries.
Rodgers and company failed to generate big plays Sunday, making just two plays of over 22 yards, but they committed no turnovers and capitalized on field position to grind out a road win versus an improved Jags team. Rodgers notably connected with Jordy Nelson in the end zone and scored on a six-yard scramble in the first quarter-- two things that have helped him establish an extremely stable floor for production in recent seasons. He will look to build on a strong start next week versus Minnesota.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Leads comeback win over Saints Sunday
Carr completed 24 of 38 passes for 319 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's come-from-behind win over the Saints. He also added 16 yards on a pair of carries.
Carr was excellent Sunday, making up for a relatively slow start by leading three scoring drives in the fourth quarter, culminating in a beautiful fade to Michael Crabtree for the two-point conversion that ultimately decided the game. Carr enjoyed a breakout season in 2015, and Sunday's poise under pressure indicates that the third-year signal-caller continues to improve. With an excellent road victory already under his belt, Carr will set his sights on next week's home opener versus Atlanta.
