Jayden Daniels QB | WAS
Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Wrist not concern on short week
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Tuesday that he has "zero concerns" about Daniels' right wrist after the quarterback appeared on the team's initial Week 2 injury report, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Commanders are facing a quick turnaround with a road matchup versus the Packers on Thursday night, but Daniels doesn't look to be at any real risk of sitting out. Even though he's being listed on the injury report, the Commanders still gauged him as a full participant on Monday's practice estimate. Daniels is unlikely to take many practice reps on a short week, but unless the wrist injury is more serious than Quinn is letting on, the second-year signal-caller still profiles as a strong fantasy play this week.

Caleb Williams QB | CHI
Bears' Caleb Williams: Squanders strong start in MNF loss
Williams completed 21 of 35 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown while rushing six times for 58 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 27-24 loss to the Vikings.
Williams got the Ben Johnson era off to an efficient start, hitting his first 10 throws under Chicago's new head coach and play caller. That strong stretch also included a nine-yard Williams rushing touchdown to cap the opening drive. His first miss was a costly one, though, as it came on fourth down well into Vikings territory. Chicago took a 17-6 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Vikings responded with 21 unanswered points before Williams finally stemmed the bleeding with a one-yard touchdown pass to Rome Odunze with 2:02 remaining. The Bears got the ball back in the final seconds but couldn't muster a final push. Williams' rushing production was encouraging, but he struggled with accuracy after his hot start through the air. He'll try to put together a more complete performance against the Lions in Week 2.

J.J. McCarthy QB | MIN
Vikings' J.J. McCarthy: Leads comeback victory Monday
McCarthy completed 13 of 20 passes for 143 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding two carries for 25 yards and another score in the Vikings' 27-24 win over the Bears on Monday night. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.
Making his long-awaited regular-season debut, McCarthy mostly scuffled through the first three quarters before igniting a 21-point outburst in the final period. The 2024 first-round pick connected with Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones for fourth-quarter touchdown passes of 13 and 27 yards, respectively, and he followed those scoring strikes with a 14-yard touchdown run to extend Minnesota's 20-17 lead at the 2:53 mark of the fourth quarter. McCarthy also completed a two-point conversion to Adam Thielen, and he connected with seven different targets overall when factoring in that scoring toss. The second-year signal-caller now will prepare for his home regular-season debut, a Week 2 matchup against the Falcons on Sunday night.

Brock Purdy QB | SF
49ers' Brock Purdy: Status in limbo for Week 2
The 49ers are expected to give Purdy (toe/shoulder) the entire week ahead of this coming Sunday's game at New Orleans to see if he'll be healthy enough to play, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Monday that Purdy suffered a pair of injuries during Sunday's victory in Seattle. The toe issue is worse than the shoulder concern, per David Lombardi of SFStandard.com, which is to his non-throwing arm. Purdy was able to play all 76 offensive snaps and completed 26 of 35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and turned five carries into 17 yards. If Purdy needs to miss any time, Mac Jones is waiting in the wings for spot starts.

Brock Purdy QB | SF
49ers' Brock Purdy: Dealing with pair of injuries
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Purdy emerged from Sunday's win at Seattle with shoulder and toe injuries, and his availability for this coming Sunday's game in New Orleans is in question, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports. "We're not sure," Shanahan added. "We've got to see how it heals and how the week goes on it."
Shanahan noted that Purdy's toe issue is the worse of the two health concerns, but the QB still gutted through them Week 1, completing 26 of 35 passes for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing five times for 17 yards. If Purdy isn't able to suit up Week 2, Mac Jones would get the spot start under center.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Giants' Russell Wilson: Confirmed as Week 2 starter
Giants coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Wilson will start Sunday on the road against Dallas in Week 2, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.
Wilson struggled significantly in his New York debut versus the Commanders in Week 1, a 21-6 loss in which he completed 17 of 37 pass attempts for 168 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. The veteran did salvage his fantasy performance to some extent, rushing for 44 yards on eight carries. While Daboll said the team doesn't want to make any rash decisions at quarterback, Wilson will certainly need to turn in a better effort sooner rather than later in order to avoid pressure from rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart or potentially even veteran backup Jameis Winston.

Jalen Milroe QB | SEA
Seahawks' Jalen Milroe: Rushes once in debut
Milroe rushed once for one yard in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the 49ers.
Milroe came into the game on second down in the first quarter and rushed up the middle for one yard. The Seahawks have openly stated that Milroe would have a special package of plays during the season while Sam Darnold is the starting quarterback, and it's clear that they're easing the rookie third-round pick into this role. Milroe's next chance to get on the field will be Sunday versus the Steelers.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Four total TDs in Week 1 thriller
Allen completed 33 of 46 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 14 times for 30 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens.
Allen opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid on the opening drive, but the Ravens responded with a 20-3 run. Allen and the offense kept Buffalo within striking distance in the second half, and the dual-threat quarterback scored a two-yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter, two plays after connecting with James Cook for a 51-yard gain through the air. That rushing score was the 66th of Allen's regular-season career, surpassing Thurman Thomas for the most in Bills history. Allen then tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Keon Coleman and added a one-yard rushing touchdown before guiding the offense in position for a game-winning field goal in the final seconds of a fourth quarter that featured 251 Allen passing yards, as the Bills played their best football down the stretch while the Ravens sputtered. With the other three AFC East teams all losing Sunday, the Bills already hold the division lead heading into a Week 2 road game against the Jets.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Scores thrice on SNF
Jackson completed 14 of 19 pass attempts for 209 yards and two touchdowns while adding 70 rushing yards and a third score on six carries in Sunday's 41-40 loss to Buffalo.
Jackson was nearly flawless commanding the Ravens' offense on Sunday Night Football, but it wasn't enough to lift his team over the Bills in an instant classic. The 28-year-old was able to help fantasy managers with his three combined touchdowns, a mark he reached an impressive nine times in 2024. Those who spent a premium pick on the dual-threat superstar have to be feeling good about their QB heading into the Ravens' home opener against the Browns next Sunday.

Jared Goff QB | DET
Lions' Jared Goff: Salvages day in garbage time
Goff completed 31 of 39 passes for 225 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Packers.
Goff's final line was hardly efficient, as he averaged only 5.8 yards per attempt for the day. However, things were even more bleak for much of the game, as he accounted for 65 yards and his lone touchdown of the day on the Lions' final offensive possession that began with the team down by three scores late in the fourth quarter. Goff still managed some long completions to his top skill-position players, including 32 and 19-yard connections with Sam LaPorta and Amon-Ra St. Brown, respectively, but Goff will be looking for a bounce-back performance in Week 2 against the Bears.
