Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Bills' Tyrod Taylor: Looking good for Week 9
Coach Rex Ryan expects Taylor, who appeared to practice fully Monday, to be 100 percent for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Sal Capaccio of WGR550 reports.
We'll see what Taylor's practice work looks like once the team needs to apply an official designation starting Wednesday, but it looks like the Bills are going to get a nice upgrade at quarterback over what EJ Manuel has been giving the team.

Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Bills' Tyrod Taylor: Returns to practice
Taylor (knee) is present at the start of the Bills' practice Monday, ESPN's Mike Rodak.
Taylor seemed close enough to playing the week before the bye that we'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't leading the Bills this week against the Dolphins, especially given that the team is a disappointing 3-4 and received some terrible quarterback play in the Week 7 London loss to the Jags.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Throws Four Touchdowns
Carr completed 23-of-36 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Jets.
Carr picked apart a very stingy Jets' defense on Sunday as the Raiders rolled to an easy 34-20 win in Oakland. The second-year pro has thrown 15 touchdowns on the year to just three interceptions, and he's quickly becoming a top-end fantasy option as his position. The Raiders get a matchup with the Steelers in Pittsburgh next week and Carr should be in your starting lineup if you own him.

Brian Hoyer QB | LV
Texans' Brian Hoyer: Leads Texans to division win
Hoyer completed 23-of-35 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns in Week 8's 20-6 win over the Titans. He finished with a 103.9 quarterback rating.
Hoyer threw multiple touchdowns for the fifth straight game, tossing 12 TDs to just two interceptions during that run. Some of that production has come during blowout portions of games, so we're not suggesting Hoyer's been good in every half of every game, but he's doing this largely without a running game and, until Week 8, without a quality defense.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Throws for just 77 yards
Rodgers completed 14 of 22 passes for 77 yards, adding two carries for 31 yards, in Sunday's 29-10 loss to the Broncos.
The Green Bay offense was overwhelmed by the NFL's best defense, with the receivers unable to gain separation and the offensive line unable to protect its quarterback. Rodgers mostly did a nice job of dodging the pressure, but he also missed a few throws that he normally makes with ease. Unless he faces the Broncos again in the Super Bowl, Rodgers won't have another matchup of similar difficulty for the rest of the season. Even against a tough Carolina defense, he should fare much better in Week 9.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Modest stats in close win
Wilson completed 19-of-30 passes for 210 yards with one touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 13-12 win at Dallas. He also rushed for 32 yards on six carries.
It was somewhat ugly for Wilson and the entire offense, but he was able to convert a couple of key third downs, mainly with his legs, on the team's penultimate drive of the game, which resulted in the game-winning field goal at the 1:10 mark of the fourth quarter. Wilson was on pace to shatter his career high in passing attempts for a season, but the Seahawks have been running the ball a bit more lately, especially with Marshawn Lynch healthy again. While Wilson has provided nice rushing numbers for fantasy owners, he still hasn't thrown for 300 yards or recorded more than two passing touchdowns in a game this year. Make sure he's on your bench in Week 9, as the Seahawks will have their bye.

Geno Smith QB | NYJ
Jets' Geno Smith: Suffers pair of injuries
Smith injured his abdomen and left shoulder during the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Raiders.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, who originally left in the first quarter with torn ligaments in his left thumb, had to come back in for a couple of plays on the game's final drive. Smith did make it back for the final three snaps, but both he and Fitzpatrick were visibly limited by their respective injuries. Smith is more likely than his teammate to be ready for Week 9 against the Jagaurs, following a strong second half in Sunday's loss. The Jets' No. 3 quarterback is rookie Bryce Petty, who won't necessarily get the start if Fitzpatrick and Smith are both unable to play. The Jets will likely take a look at veteran free agents.

Geno Smith QB | NYJ
Jets' Geno Smith: Decent production after Ryan Fitzpatrick (hand) exits
Smith completed 27-of-42 passes for 265 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 34-20 loss at Oakland. He also ran twice for 34 yards.
Smith took over for Ryan Fitzpatrick, who hurt his left hand early in the game, and didn't look too bad, tossing a pair of short touchdowns in the second half. He also made a nice 29-yard run in the fourth quarter, but allowed himself to get drilled on the sideline, instead of stepping out of bounds. He then took a wicked shot in the chest in the final minute of the game, although he only missed a couple of plays. While it's too early to speculate on the severity of Fitzpatrick's injury, it's certainly possible that Smith will make a start or two, and if such a scenario transpires, Smith would face the Jaguars at home in Week 9.
-
Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Bengals' Andy Dalton: Guides Bengals to win despite lack of A-game
Dalton didn't have his best stuff, but still managed to guide the Bengals to a win Sunday in Pittsburgh. He threw two interceptions while completing 23-of-38 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown.
More than half of Dalton's yardage went to A.J. Green, as the quarterback failed to get into any sort of rhythm with the rest of his receivers. Dalton still has a very nice 15:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio through seven games this year, so it's likely that the Red Rocket will be able to bounce back when he faces the Browns on Thursday.
-
Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Throws and rushes for TD in Week 8 overtime victory
Winston went 16-for-29 for 171 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 overtime victory over the Falcons. He also gained 24 yards and scored a touchdown on three rushes.
For a game in which he posted a fairly ordinary stat line, Winston's performance offered plenty of reasons for encouragement. The rookie quarterback was quietly efficient on a day in which he was forced to operate without two of his top three receivers and in which starting tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins spent yet another week on the sidelines. Winston displayed the poise and adaptability of a seasoned veteran, completing passes to seven different receivers. He also flashed some savvy running skills on his four-yard touchdown rush in the opening possession of the second half, and converted three third downs on the opening possession of overtime to help the Bucs get into range for what turned out to be the game-winning field goal. Winston will have a juicy matchup in Week 9 against a Giants defense that surrendered an NFL-record seven touchdowns to Drew Brees on Sunday.
