Dorian Thompson-Robinson QB | PHI
Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Returns to practice, may not start
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Thompson-Robinson (concussion) will return to practice Wednesday, but a decision has yet to be made on a Week 14 starting quarterback, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Thompson-Robinson remains in the concussion protocol, but his ability to practice in some capacity Wednesday represents progress on some level after the rookie quarterback sat out last week's loss to the Rams. While veteran Joe Flacco didn't exactly light up the Rams while starting in Thompson-Robinson's absence, his 254 passing yards and two touchdowns (albeit on 44 attempts) surpasses what the Browns have seen from Thompson-Robinson in any of his three starts this season. The rookie signal-caller may thus find himself in a backup role to Flacco if he clears the protocol before Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
49ers' Sam Darnold: Mops up in blowout win
Darnold carried once for minus-one yard while playing four of the 49ers' 59 snaps on offense in Sunday's 42-19 win over the Eagles.
Darnold looked like a candidate to get his first extended playing time of the season back in late October while Brock Purdy was in concussion protocol, but Purdy ended up being cleared ahead of the 49ers' Week 8 game against the Bengals and hasn't missed out on any starts ever since. As such, most of Darnold's opportunities are likely to come in mop-up scenarios such as this past Sunday, when he took the field for the 49ers' final possession with 2:07 remaining in the fourth quarter with the outcome already in hand. Over his six appearances off the bench this season, Darnold has completed two of three passes for seven yards.

Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Eagles' Marcus Mariota: Takes first snaps of season
Mariota played five of the Eagles' 72 snaps on offense and completed two of three pass attempts for 16 yards while carrying twice for six yards in Sunday's 42-19 loss to the 49ers.
For the first time all season, Mariota was summoned from the bench with just over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter while starting quarterback Jalen Hurts was evaluated for a concussion. Mariota led the Eagles to a pair of first downs before Hurts was cleared to return to the game. Assuming Hurts makes it through the upcoming practice week unscathed, Mariota will remain in a backup role for the Eagles' matchup with the Cowboys this Sunday.

Joshua Dobbs QB | NE
Vikings' Joshua Dobbs: Will remain starter Week 14
Dobbs will remain Minnesota's starting quarterback Sunday against the Raiders, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
Minnesota's coaching staff mulled over the idea of inserting Nick Mullens or Jaren Hall under center after Dobbs struggled in the team's 12-10 loss to the Bears in Week 12, but Dobbs will ultimately remain atop the depth chart coming out of the Vikings' bye week. Prior to the poor showing against Chicago, Dobbs had at least one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown in each of his first three appearances for the Vikings. While Dobbs' grip on the starting job is tenuous, his production could be aided by the expected return of star wide receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) for Sunday's game in Las Vegas.

Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Not practicing
Rodgers (Achilles) won't practice Wednesday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
His absence reportedly was planned, though prior reports had suggested that Rodgers would practice on consecutive days this week. That still might happen Thursday and Friday, though a return to game action during the 2023 season appears to be highly unlikely with the Jets sitting at 4-8 after a loss to Atlanta this past Sunday. After a two-game benching, Zach Wilson will reclaim the Jets' starting quarterback job Week 14 against Houston.

Zach Wilson QB | NO
Jets' Zach Wilson: Named Week 14 starter
Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that Wilson will start Sunday's game against the Texans.
Saleh added that he hopes Wilson will remain the Jets' starting signal-caller for the remainder of the regular season, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. The comment is an implicit acknowledgement that Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) won't return this season, which was all but guaranteed after the Jets dropped to 4-8 with a loss to the Falcons this past Sunday. The Jets then waived Tim Boyle -- who had started the past two games -- on Tuesday and replaced him with Brett Rypien. In addition to Wilson and the injured Rodgers, Rypien joins Trevor Siemian in the Jets' quarterback room.

Mike White QB | CAR
Dolphins' Mike White: Mops up in Week 13
White completed his lone pass attempt for three yards while playing the final 13 snaps of the Dolphins' 45-15 win over the Commanders on Sunday.
Tua Tagovailoa has started all 12 of the Dolphins' games this season, but White has gotten the chance to take snaps at the end of four contests, all of which were blowout wins. Over his four relief appearances, White has completed three of four attempts for 70 yards, one touchdown and one interception. If Tagovailoa were to miss time at any point, White could make for an intriguing lineup option in leagues that start two quarterbacks while he has access to a Miami offense featuring talented playmakers such as Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane.

Tyrod Taylor QB | NYJ
Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Not starting in Week 14
Taylor (ribs) won't start in Week 14 against the Packers after coach Brian Daboll named Tommy DeVito the Giants' starting QB on Tuesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Taylor has been designated to return from IR after missing the minimum four games, and he told Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic on Tuesday that four broken ribs were the reason for his stay on the list. Assuming he's activated ahead of Monday's game, Taylor will serve as the backup to DeVito.

Bailey Zappe QB | NYJ
Patriots' Bailey Zappe: Likely starting Thursday
Zappe implied Tuesday that he'll remain the Patriots' starting quarterback Thursday at Pittsburgh, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports. "Coach (Bill Belichick) has made it pretty clear, but I'll let him announce it to everybody," Zappe said.
Zappe didn't fare much better than previous starter Mac Jones this past Sunday during a 6-0 loss to the Chargers, completing 13 of 25 passes for 141 yards and no touchdowns while rushing four times for 16 yards. On a positive note, Zappe didn't turn the ball over after tossing picks in both of his prior two appearances. His available skill-position talent is in flux considering Rhamondre Stevenson has a high-ankle sprain, while Ezekiel Elliott (thigh) and wideouts DeVante Parker (knee), Demario Douglas (concussion), JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) are also on the Patriots' Week 14 injury report. Even after Belichick makes it official that Zappe will get the nod this week, he won't necessarily have the pieces available to produce much offense.

Brett Rypien QB | MIN
Jets' Brett Rypien: Moving on to New York
The Jets are signing Rypien off the Seahawks' practice squad Tuesday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
In a corresponding move, New York is waiving Tim Boyle, which will leave Trevor Siemian, Zach Wilson and Rypien as the three quarterbacks on its active roster. Rypien has a prior relationship with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett due to being a member of the Broncos last season, and the QB has four career starts under his belt between Denver and the Rams. In those contests, Rypien completed 77 of 131 passes for 794 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions, while recording 13 carries for 21 yards and fumbling five times (two lost).
