  • Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Just shy of 300 yards in win

Lawrence (knee) completed 24 of 32 passes for 292 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 20-10 win over Pittsburgh. He added one rushing attempt for 10 yards.

With Jacksonville leading 6-0 and looking for more, Lawrence was picked off in the end zone on 1st-and-goal. Lawrence finally got the offense into the end zone with a 56-yard touchdown pass to Travis Etienne in the third quarter, but that was his only touchdown pass of the afternoon, as Lawrence has a modest 9:4 TD:INT heading into Jacksonville's Week 9 bye after posting a 25:8 TD:INT last season. The 24-year-old quarterback came eight yards shy of his second 300-yard performance of 2023 after reaching that mark four times in 2022.

  • Kirk Cousins QB | LV

Vikings' Kirk Cousins: May have Achilles tear

Cousins suffered an apparent torn Achilles during Sunday's 24-10 win at Green Bay, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Cousins limped to the sideline with 10:30 left in the fourth quarter unable to put any weight on his right foot and was quickly ruled out. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Cousins is slated for an MRI to determine the exact nature of the injury, but if the expected diagnosis is confirmed, he'll miss the remainder of the campaign. With Nick Mullens (back) needing to remain on injured reserve for at last one more game, rookie fifth-round pick Jaren Hall could be in line for his first career start next Sunday in Atlanta.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Four-touchdown breakout in win

Hurts completed 29 of 38 passes for 319 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Eagles' 38-31 win over the Commanders on Sunday. He also rushed four times for six yards and lost a fumble.

The Eagles got off to yet another sluggish start, but Hurts was key in bringing Philadelphia back to notch what turned out to be a furious comeback that included 21 fourth-quarter points. The star signal-caller connected with favorite target A.J. Brown for touchdown passes of 16 and 25 yards before adding scoring tosses of 38 and eight yards to DeVonta Smith and Julio Jones, respectively, in the fourth quarter. Hurts also narrowly missed out on yet another rushing touchdown via the infamous Brotherly Shove play, as he fumbled before reaching the goal line. Hurts' touchdown tally was his highest of the season, although he did see his three-game streak with a rushing score snapped. Hurts next takes aim at the Cowboys in a Week 9 home divisional showdown.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Steelers' Mitch Trubisky: Throws two interceptions Sunday

Trubisky completed 15 of 27 pass attempts for 138 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions while rushing three times for 18 yards during the Steelers' 20-10 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Trubisky entered Sunday's matchup in the second quarter after Kenny Pickett (ribs) left the game and served as the Steelers' quarterback for the remainder of the game since Pickett was ruled out for the afternoon. Trubisky wasn't particularly effective in relief and was unable to lead the Steelers to the win. Pickett was initially expected to return to the game before being ruled out, so it's possible he'll be available in Week 9. However, Pittsburgh has a short week before facing the Titans on Thursday, so a better idea of the Steelers' plans at quarterback should come into focus based on Pickett's participation in practice early this week. Trubisky would presumably serve as the Steelers' starting quarterback versus Tennessee if Pickett is unable to suit up.

  • Kirk Cousins QB | LV

Vikings' Kirk Cousins: Exits with ankle injury

Cousins won't return to Sunday's game against the Packers after exiting in the fourth quarter with an apparent right ankle injury.

Cousins hobbled off the field with 10:30 remaining in the game and didn't appear to be putting any weight on his right foot after he was taken down by Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark on a third-down play. He headed to the Vikings' medical tent on the sideline for evaluation before being quickly carted to the locker room and ruled out for the day. He'll finish the Week 8 contest with 23 completions on 31 attempts for 274 yards and two touchdowns to go with nine rushing yards on two carries. Jaren Hall will replace Cousins as the Vikings' quarterback and could be in line for playing time if Cousins' injury is serious enough to keep him out of Minnesota's Week 9 game versus the Falcons.

  • Rams' Matthew Stafford: Suffers right thumb injury Sunday

Stafford injured his right thumb during Sunday's contest at Dallas, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

In the span of a few plays late in the second quarter, Stafford had his right wrist hit by Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons before his right thumb slammed into the helmet of defensive tackle Mazi Smith on a two-point conversion pass that fell incomplete. After halftime, backup quarterback Brett Rypien took over the Rams offense while Stafford himself was seen on the sideline wearing a helmet. Stafford was 13-for-22 passing for 162 yards, one touchdown and one interception and had a nine-yard carry before his departure.

  • Brandon Allen QB | NYG

49ers' Brandon Allen: Operating as emergency quarterback

Allen (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals, but he will operate as the team's emergency quarterback, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Allen will be able to enter the game if both Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold are forced out with injuries. The quarterback has not appeared in a game yet this season.

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Done for day with rib injury

Pickett has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jaguars due to a rib injury.

Pickett sustained the injury when he took a hard hit late in the second quarter and headed to the locker room, but he had been expected to return to the game for the second half, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic. However, Mitch Trubisky remained the team's quarterback for the first possession of the third quarter, and after further deliberation, Pittsburgh has chosen to hold Pickett out for the rest of the game. Pickett will finish the Week 8 contest with 10 completions on 16 attempts for 73 yards to go with 10 yards on his lone carry. He'll have limited time to heal up from the injury if he hopes to avoid an absence, as the Steelers are set to face the Titans on Thursday night in Week 9.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Active in Week 8, as expected

Mahomes (illness) is active for Sunday's Week 8 clash against the Broncos, as expected.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Sunday that the star signal-caller had fallen ill Saturday and had even been placed on an IV during the day, adding Mahomes had woken up feeling much better Sunday and was still fully expected to play. Mahomes' active status is now official, meaning fantasy managers should proceed with including him in lineups without concern. However, it's worth noting the Chiefs-Broncos game will be played in significant inclement weather, including periods of heavy snow. Consequently, even if Mahomes has improved as much as reported, the field conditions may certainly not be conducive to one of his more fantasy-friendly performances. If Mahomes were to have an in-game setback Sunday, veteran Blaine Gabbert would be set to handle Kansas City's offense.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | NYJ

Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Ruled out with rib injury

Taylor won't return to Sunday's game versus the Jets due to a rib injury.

Taylor was in clear discomfort after getting tackled while running to his left in the second quarter and seemed to be favoring his right wrist after the play. After heading to the locker room, though, he's been diagnosed with a different health concern and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, ending Week 8 action with eight yards on 4-for-7 passing and five carries for 33 yards. With Daniel Jones (neck) inactive again, the Giants will entrust the offense to undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito for the rest of Sunday.
