  • Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Encouraging MRI results

Coach Todd Bowles said Monday that MRI results on Mayfield's ankle came back negative but that the quarterback is feeling sore after Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Colts, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Mayfield injured his ankle while converting a quarterback sneak on Tampa Bay's opening drive, causing Kyle Trask to fill in for two plays. He ultimately completed 20 of 30 passes for 199 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, plus three carries for 14 yards. Mayfield also fumbled twice, with Indianapolis recovering one. It's encouraging that the veteran quarterback's MRI showed no ligament damage, but it still will be worth monitoring Mayfield's practice status as he works to get healthy in time to face the Panthers in Week 13.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Still has commitment from team

Jones (knee) is expected to remain the Giants' starting quarterback when healthy, but that won't stop the team from making moves at the position during the 2024 offseason, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Jones underwent successful surgery to address a right ACL tear Nov. 22 and is now facing an 8-to-10 month recovery timeline, which gives him a realistic chance to be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 season. The Giants are sitting on a 4-8 record after beating the Patriots on Sunday and have recorded back-to-back wins with UDFA Tommy DeVito under center, and any further victories could result in the team's first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft not being high enough to realistically target a top QB prospect such as Drake Maye or Caleb Williams without trading up. That scenario would lend credence to the verbal commitment Jones got Monday from GM Joe Schoen, even after a disastrous 2023 campaign. DeVito will be under contract next season and figures to back up Jones barring any additions to the depth chart, as veteran backup Tyrod Taylor (ribs) is scheduled for free agency.

  • Will Levis QB | TEN

Titans' Will Levis: Not asked to do much in victory

Levis completed 18 of 28 passes for 185 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Panthers.

Levis did the majority of his work in the first half, as he attempted only 10 passes across the final two quarters while the Titans attempted to preserve a victory. As a result, he was held under 200 passing yards for the third consecutive game, and he's now failed to throw for a touchdown in three of his starts. Positively, Levis was willing to push the ball down the field, with one-third of his completions going for more than 15 yards. Tennessee has been willing to rely on its defense and ground attack to win games this season, and that's unlikely to change down the stretch, thus limiting Levis' upside.

  • Justin Herbert QB | LAC

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Suffers injury scare on SNF

Herbert completed 29 of 44 pass attempts for 217 yards, a touchdown and an interception while rushing four times for 47 yards and losing a fumble in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Ravens.

Herbert had to be evaluated for a concussion after getting strip-sacked by Jadeveon Clowney in the fourth quarter, as reported by FOX Sports' Eric Williams. The Chargers' star quarterback was eventually cleared to return and did not miss a snap as he unsuccessfully attempted to mount a late comeback. As for his performance on the field, Herbert wound up being responsible for two of the four turnovers that helped contribute to his team's third straight loss. Barring any lingering issues stemming from Sunday's physical battle, it appears as if Herbert avoided injury and should be ready for next Sunday's road matchup in New England.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Manages game in victory

Jackson completed 18 of 32 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chargers. He added 11 rushes for 39 yards.

Jackson helped the Ravens to an early lead with a three-yard touchdown pass to Zay Flowers, but the offense largely stalled from there. Positively, Jackson avoided turnovers for the second consecutive game, and he continued to get plenty of opportunities as a rusher. He's done exactly what has been asked of him for much of the season, but Jackson has now failed to tally multiple touchdowns in eight of his 12 games to this point.

  • Bengals' Jake Browning: Mediocre in first career start

Browning completed 19 of 26 passes for 227 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Steelers. He added three rushes for nine yards.

Browning drew his first career start due to the absence of Joe Burrow (wrist) and kept the Bengals in the game for a tough divisional matchup. His lone touchdown came early in the second quarter on an 11-yard pass to Drew Sample. While Browning certainly won't move the Cincinnati offense in a comparable way to Burrow, he did show enough competence that Cincinnati should remain competitive, which is good news for the likes of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins (hamstring).

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Shows improvement under new OC

Pickett completed 24 of 33 passes for 278 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 16-10 win over the Bengals.

Pickett showed signs of improvement in his first game after offensive coordinator Matt Canada was fired. Most significantly, Pickett completed passes over the middle of the field to Pat Freiermuth, a piece of the offense that had been missing prior to Sunday's performance. At least in part, that led to a season-best yardage total, with the only blemish being that Pickett failed to record a passing score. Despite the noted improvement, Pickett has just six passing touchdowns in 11 games -- only one of which has come in his last six contests.

  • Bryce Young QB | CAR

Panthers' Bryce Young: Struggles to move offense in loss

Young completed 18 of 31 passes for 194 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Titans.

The Panthers ran a run-heavy gameplan to take some pressure off Young, but he struggled when called upon. He averaged only 6.3 yards per attempt, took four sacks and also lost a fumble. To make matters worse, Young has now failed to top 200 passing yards in four consecutive games and has two touchdowns, four interceptions and two lost fumbles in that span.

  • Raiders' Aidan O'Connell: Plays well in defeat

O'Connell completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 248 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers or rushing attempts in Sunday's 31-17 loss to Kansas City.

O'Connell cleaned up his play after throwing three interceptions in last week's loss to Miami, completing 69 percent of his passes with no turnovers against the Chiefs on Sunday. While the rookie signal-caller suffered another loss, he appears to be getting more comfortable under center after taking over for Jimmy Garoppolo back in Week 9. O'Connell's low upside and lack of rushing stats keeps him out of the fantasy picture in most leagues, but he has kept Las Vegas' offense respectable through a midseason coaching staff overhaul. The Raiders will resume play against Minnesota in Week 14 after the upcoming bye week.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Outduels Josh Allen in OT win

Hurts completed 18 of 31 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns with one interception and added 65 rushing yards and two TDs on 14 carries in Sunday's 37-34 overtime win over the Bills.

Josh Allen posted better yardage totals and produced four touchdowns of his own, but Hurts had the last laugh as he dashed for a game-winning 12-yard TD with under three minutes remaining in OT. The two dual-threat QBs combined for four rushing scores on the day, an impressive feat considering that neither the Buffalo nor Philadelphia defenses had allowed a rushing TD by a quarterback all season prior to Sunday. Hurts is now the first QB in NFL history to record three straight seasons with 10 or more touchdowns on the ground, and with 18 passing TDs through 11 games, he's just five away from establishing a new career high in that category. The Eagles have won three straight nailbiters against Super Bowl-caliber opposition, and their gauntlet will continue in Week 13 at home against the 49ers.
