  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Deemed limited Wednesday

Allen (right shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice.

Allen will have two more chances to increase his practice participation ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots, but at this stage the quarterback is expected to be available this weekend. Per Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site, Allen said Wednesday that there's no concern with pain or mobility in his shoulder.

  • Nathan Rourke QB | ATL

Jaguars' Nathan Rourke: Promoted to Jacksonville's roster

The Jaguars signed Rourke off their practice squad Wednesday.

With starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence dealing with a knee sprain, Rourke provides the Jaguars with added depth ahead of Thursday's game against the Saints. As Tom Pelissero of NFL Network notes, adding Rourke to the 53-man roster makes him eligible to be designated as the team's emergency No. 3 quarterback versus New Orleans if Lawrence is listed as active. Rourke would serve as the top backup to C.J. Beathard if Lawrence is inactive.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Practice window opens

The Cardinals announced Wednesday that Murray (knee) has been designated for return from the reserve/PUP list, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

As a result of the transaction, the Cardinals will open up Murray 21-day evaluation window, giving Arizona up to three weeks to monitor the quarterback's health and progress in practice before adding him to the 53-man roster. The 26-year-old is working his way back surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, and while the Cardinals could activate him as early as this Sunday versus Seattle, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that the team's current plan is to give the quarterback plenty of time to ramp up his activity. Joshua Dobbs will continue to hold down the fort at quarterback until Murray is cleared to make his 2023 debut.

  • Nathan Rourke QB | ATL

Nathan Rourke: Expected to join 53-man roster

The Jaguars plan to sign Rourke off their practice squad ahead of Thursday's game against the Saints, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

If Rourke is promoted to the 53-man roster, he would provide the Jaguars with added quarterback depth while Trevor Lawrence tends to a sprained knee. For his part, Lawrence has said that he hopes to play Thursday, but if he can't go, C.J. Beathard would likely get the start while Rourke would be active as the No. 2 quarterback.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Browns' Deshaun Watson: Week 7 status uncertain

Watson (shoulder) said Wednesday that the injury that has kept him sidelined for the Browns' last two games is a rotator cuff strain, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

Prior reports had characterized the injury as a rotator cuff contusion, but Watson's own comments suggests he's dealing with a partial tear in his throwing shoulder. According to Trotter, Watson said that it's still "up in the air" if he'll be available Sunday against the Colts. The Browns will release their first Week 7 injury report later Wednesday, when it will be known whether Watson was able to practice in any capacity. If Watson is forced to miss a third straight game this Sunday, PJ Walker would likely be elevated from the practice squad once again to make his second start in a row.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Set for limited practice

Head coach Brian Daboll said that Jones (neck) will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.

Jones will throw Wednesday, but Daboll made clear that the quarterback isn't yet cleared for contact, according to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Per Dan Benton of USA Today, Jones said Tuesday in his appearance on FanDuel TV's "Up & Adams" that while his condition is improving, he's "still dealing with some of those symptoms" from the neck injury he suffered in the Giants' Week 5 loss to the Dolphins. Jones will have two more chances to potentially increase his activity in practice this week, but for now, his status for Sunday's game against the Commanders is up in the air. If Jones is forced to miss a second straight game this weekend, Tyrod Taylor will be in store for another start under center.

  • Bears' Justin Fields: Won't practice Wednesday

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said that Fields (thumb) won't practice Wednesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.

Eberflus added that he has no updates on Fields' health at this time, noting that the quarterback remains unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Raiders. The head coach reiterated that Fields' availability to play moving forward will come down to a matter of grip strength. Assuming Fields ends up sitting out the Week 7 game versus Las Vegas, the Bears will turn to either undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent or veteran Nathan Peterman as their starter.

  • Colts' Gardner Minshew: Looks set to start rest of season

Minshew appears set to serve as the Colts' starting quarterback for the remainder of the campaign after Indianapolis announced Wednesday that Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is scheduled for season-ending surgery.

Minshew had already been primed for at least a four-game starting run after the Colts placed Richardson on injured reserve last week, but now that the rookie signal-caller is set to undergo surgery, Minshew will have a longer leash atop the depth chart. The Colts could still explore further options at quarterback, but even after a sloppy performance during Sunday's loss to the Jaguars, Minshew is likely the team's best option moving forward for the foreseeable future. The veteran struggled with turnovers versus Jacksonville, completing 33 of 55 passes for 329 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions while also losing one fumble. On deck Week 7 is a tough matchup against a Browns defense that put the clamps on Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense in Week 6.

  • Colts' Anthony Richardson: Done for season

The Colts announced Wednesday that Richardson will require season-ending surgery to address a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.

Richardson was placed on injured reserve Oct. 11 after sustaining the injury to his throwing shoulder in the first half of the Colts' Week 5 win over the Titans. Colts owner Jim Irsay had hinted Monday that Richardson would most likely be shut down for the season, and now that he's confirmed to be headed for surgery, the quarterback's rookie campaign will officially come to an end. With Richardson unavailable moving forward, Gardner Minshew will continue as the team's starting signal-caller, backed up by Sam Ehlinger. Though the Colts anticipate Richardson making a full recovery from surgery in advance of the 2024 season, it's fair to wonder whether the team may look to scale back his rushing load to some degree moving forward in an attempt to preserve his health.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Set to participate in walk-through

Allen (shoulder) will participate in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.

The Bills will release their first Week 7 injury report later Wednesday, when it will be known whether Allen was listed as a full or limited participant. Head coach Sean McDermott previously suggested that the quarterback is considered day-to-day as Sunday's game against the Patriots approaches, but the expectation is that Allen will be ready to play this weekend. Allen gave way to backup Kyle Allen for two snaps during Sunday's win over the Giants, but he was quickly able to return to the contest.
