Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Breaks out against Cards
Burrow completed 36 of 46 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 34-20 win over the Cardinals.
He added seven rushing yards on four carries. For the first time this season, Burrow didn't seem to be bothered by the calf he originally injured at the beginning of training camp, as he hit Ja'Marr Chase for scores in the first, third and fourth quarters, the longest going for 63 yards. It's the QB's first 300-yard effort of 2023 and the 17th of his NFL career, and if his calf is 100 percent again, Burrow could continue making up for his slow start in Week 6 against a Seahawks secondary that's already allowed three quarterbacks to throw for over 300 yards in only four games.

Bailey Zappe QB | NYJ
Patriots' Bailey Zappe: Ineffective as in-game replacement
Zappe took over for an ineffective Mac Jones with 12:55 remaining in the Patriots' 34-0 loss to the Saints on Sunday and completed three of nine passes for 22 yards.
Zappe was ultimately no better than Jones in sparking the Patriots offense, seemingly leaving the team in a proverbial no man's land when it comes to its quarterback situation. Zappe showed some flashes of effective play during his starting stint as a raw rookie in 2022, but Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports head coach Bill Belichick stated after the game that Jones would remain the starting quarterback in a Week 6 road matchup against the Raiders.

Jalen Hurts QB | PHI
Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Strong dual-threat performance
Hurts completed 25 of 38 pass attempts for 303 yards, a touchdown and an interception while adding 72 yards and another score on 15 rushing attempts in Sunday's 23-14 win over the Rams.
Hurts turned in his second straight 300-yard passing game en route to another win for the 5-0 Eagles. The dual-threat quarterback produced a 15-72-1 rushing line in addition to his success through the air, effectively giving fantasy managers strong QB and RB production from one position slot. Hurts now has 10 combined touchdowns through five games while increasing his volume as a passer each week. Last season's MVP runner-up will shift his focus to a Week 6 matchup against the Jets next Sunday.

Matthew Stafford QB | LAR
Rams' Matthew Stafford: Tosses pair of TDs in loss
Stafford completed 21 of 37 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Eagles.
Stafford's favorite target since his arrival in Los Angeles returned for the first time this season, and Cooper Kupp was greeted with a team-high 12 targets that he converted into 118 yards. Stafford didn't forget about the talented youth movement that picked up the slack in Kupp's absence, as Puka Nacua (7-71-1 on 11 targets) continued his blistering tear while Tutu Atwell tacked on a touchdown of his own. Stafford didn't show any effects from the hip injury he suffered during last week's victory against the Colts, and he also managed to avoid a turnover for the second time this season. The Rams get a choice matchup in Week 6 against the Cardinals, who were just scorched by Joe Burrow for 317 yards and three touchdowns.

Brandon Allen QB | NYG
49ers' Brandon Allen: Emergency third QB in Week 5
Allen (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Cowboys but available as the 49ers' emergency third quarterback, Josh Dubow of The Associated Press reports.
For the first time in five games this season, Allen is suiting up in the event he's needed, which can only happen if starter Brock Purdy and backup Sam Darnold are injured. Allen has 15 appearances across four seasons between the Broncos and Bengals.

Trey Lance QB | LAC
Cowboys' Trey Lance: Once again emergency QB
Lance (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against San Francisco, but he was also designated as the Cowboys' emergency quarterback, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Lance will serve as Dallas' emergency quarterback for the fifth game in a row. Therefore, he will only be allowed to see the field if both starting quarterback Dak Prescott and backup Cooper Rush are both forced out with injuries Sunday.

Tyrod Taylor QB | NYJ
Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Solid numbers in emergency duty
Taylor took over for an injured Daniel Jones (neck) with 12:11 remaining in the fourth quarter and completed nine of 12 passes for 86 yards and rushed three times for 14 yards in the Giants' 31-16 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Taylor took over with the Giants already down 15 points and did a fine job statistically, but he ultimately failed to lead New York to any scores. The veteran had his own brief injury scare at one point, with Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reporting Taylor went down on one knee after trying to walk off a hit but ultimately stayed in the game. If Jones is unable to suit up for a tough Week 6 road matchup against the Bills, Taylor would be in line to draw a start against one of his former squads.

Desmond Ridder QB | GB
Falcons' Desmond Ridder: Career-best yardage total in win
Ridder completed 28 of 37 passes for 329 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added four carries for 10 yards and another score in the Falcons' 21-19 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Ridder amassed a career-best yardage total and recorded his first 300-yard game in the process during the comeback win. The second-year pro had an integral role in the victory, completing five passes during the game-winning drive after the Texans' C.J. Stroud had marched Houston down for a touchdown with under two minutes remaining. Part of the key to Ridder's productive day was his chemistry with gifted but little-used tight end Kyle Pitts, who he hit on a team-high seven occasions for 87 yards. Ridder also clicked frequently with top wideout Drake London (6-78) as the Texans forced the Falcons into more of a pass-centric attack than usual. The young signal-caller's fantasy outlook remains somewhat modest due to head coach Arthur Smith's preference for a run-heavy offense, but he'll face a favorable matchup in a Week 6 visit from the Commanders.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Reportedly sprains AC joint
The initial diagnosis for the right (throwing) shoulder injury Richardson sustained Sunday is an AC joint sprain, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Per Pelissero, X-ray were negative, but Richardson will undergo an MRI to further assess the injury. In any case, the QB's status will need to be monitored closely ahead of next weekend's game against the Jaguars, and if Richardson is unavailable, Gardner Minshew would be in line to handle the Colts' Week 6 signal-caller duties.

Bryce Young QB | CAR
Panthers' Bryce Young: Late touchdowns in loss
Young completed 25 of 41 passes for 247 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 42-24 loss to the Lions. He also rushed once for four yards.
Young's two turnovers both led to Detroit touchdowns, digging Carolina an 18-point deficit by halftime. Although he was able to salvage some production in the fourth quarter with touchdown tosses to DJ Chark and Adam Thielen, Young's career-best yardage and TD totals came in a sizeable loss. The rookie could very well find himself playing from behind yet again in Week 6 at the Dolphins.
