  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Plans to play versus Chicago

Rodgers (ribs) said Tuesday during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he was encouraged by the results of the scans he underwent Monday and plans to play in Week 13 against Chicago, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

The veteran quarterback suffered a rib injury during last Sunday's loss to Philadelphia, which forced Jordan Love into his first game action of the season. However, Rodgers was cleared of a punctured lung soon after exiting the contest, and his optimistic outlook about his health likely implies that he avoided any major structural damage to his ribs. He added that he may sit out the first practice of Week 13 prep, but that shouldn't be overly concerning, as he's missed Wednesday sessions for nearly two months straight while nursing an avulsion fracture to his right thumb. Love will stay prepared to start in the event Rodgers' condition takes a turn for the worse as the weekend approaches.

  • Kenny Pickett QB | CAR

Steelers' Kenny Pickett: Modest numbers in win over Colts

Pickett completed 20 of 28 passes for 174 yards without a touchdown or turnover in Monday's 24-17 win over the Colts. He also threw a two-point conversion and rushed six times for 32 yards.

Pickett had George Pickens open in the end zone on third down with the Steelers looking to take a 20-3 lead late in the first half, but the rookie quarterback overthrew the rookie wide receiver, who almost made a spectacular one-handed grab to bail Pickett out. That miscue aside, Pickett looked composed and in command as the Steelers took a 16-3 halftime lead. He went quiet in the third quarter but heated up in the fourth after Pittsburgh fell behind 17-16, leading a game-winning drive that featured a two-yard Benny Snell touchdown run followed by a Pickett-to-Pickens two-point conversion. Pittsburgh's defense held for the final 9:55 to hand Pickett his third win in seven starts. He'll have a decent shot at win No. 4 against Atlanta on the road in Week 13.

  • Nathan Peterman: Sent back to practice squad

Peterman reverted to the Bears' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Peterman received the bump up for Sunday's loss to the Jets with Justin Fields (shoulder) out. He was expected to back up Trevor Siemian, but Peterman almost drew the start when Siemian strained his oblique during warmups. However, Siemian went on to play and Peterman filled the No. 2 role while remaining on the sideline throughout the game. If Fields is unable to play Week 13 against the Packers, Peterman will likely once again find his way to the active roster and serve as Siemian's backup.

  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Should practice Wednesday

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Garoppolo (knee) made it out of Sunday's win against the Saints "OK" and will be able to practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Garoppolo endured one sack and six quarterback hits Sunday, one of which resulted in a roughing the passer penalty when he took a shot to his left knee early in the third quarter. He didn't miss a snap and completed 26 of 37 passes for 222 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while rushing four times for four yards. Afterward, Garoppolo told Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle that he was dealing with soreness in the knee in question, which Shanahan reiterated Monday. Still, it appears Garoppolo will be fine for Week 13.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Full participant Monday

Allen logged his first full practice Monday since suffering a right elbow injury against the Jets in Week 9, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Despite being limited at practice over the past three weeks due to an elbow injury he suffered in the team's Week 9 loss to the Jets, Allen still has suited up for three straight games, leading the Bills to a 2-1 record. During that stretch, Allen has completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 780 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. The issue doesn't appear to be impacting his throwing ability too much, but it's a positive sign to see the superstar quarterback return to full practices for the first time in a month. Allen shouldn't have any limitations heading into Thursday's divisional showdown against New England.

  • Joshua Dobbs QB | NE

    Joshua Dobbs: Waived by Cleveland

Cleveland waived Dobbs on Monday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The Browns let Dobbs go to make room on the active roster for Deshaun Watson, who's expected to start Sunday's matchup against the Texans following an 11-game suspension. Jacoby Brissett, who played well in Watson's absence, will shift to the primary backup, while Kellen Mond operates as the No. 3 quarterback. Per Cabot, Cleveland would like to sign Dobbs to its practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Browns' Deshaun Watson: On roster, expected to start

Watson was officially added to Cleveland's 53-man roster Monday and is expected to start Sunday's game against the Texans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

After waiting 700 days since his last NFL appearance, Watson will make his return against his former team Sunday. Joshua Dobbs was waived in a corresponding move to make room on the roster for Watson, while Jacoby Brissett will be relegated to a backup role.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Just shy of 300 yards in loss

Tannehill completed 22 of 34 passes for 291 yards without a touchdown or turnover in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Bengals. He added nine yards on two rushing attempts.

After throwing for a season-high 333 yards in the Week 11 win over Green Bay, Tannehill mustered his second-highest passing yardage total of the season. The veteran quarterback's recent production has been encouraging, but Tennessee's dearth of weapons in the passing game caps Tannehill's upside heading into a daunting Week 13 road matchup with the 10-1 Eagles.

  • Panthers' Baker Mayfield: Likely to drop to third string

Mayfield is expected to be inactive for the Panthers' next game in Week 14 at Seattle if PJ Walker (ankle) is healthy enough to serve as Sam Darnold's backup, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Walker has missed the Panthers' last two games with a high-ankle sprain, after starting each of the prior five contests. Mayfield, who had started the Panthers' first five games before losing the No. 1 job to Walker due to injury and poor performance, stepped back into the lineup in Week 11, but he threw for just 196 yards and was intercepted twice in a 13-3 loss to the Ravens. While Walker was sidelined in Week 12, the Panthers chose to bypass Mayfield in favor of Darnold, who committed no turnovers and contributed one touchdown through the air and one on the ground in Sunday's 23-10 win over the Broncos. Interim head coach Steve Wilks has already confirmed that Darnold will retain the starting job coming out of the team's Week 13 bye, and with Walker likely to be ready to go, Mayfield looks set to drop to third on the depth chart. Newton suggests that the Panthers could look to release him in order to address other areas of need on the 53-man roster.

  • Bears' Nathan Peterman: Doesn't play Week 12

Peterman was active as the Bears' backup quarterback but didn't see the field Sunday in the team's 31-10 loss to the Jets.

Peterman was elevated from the practice squad Saturday in anticipation of the absence of starter Justin Fields (shoulder), who was ultimately placed on the inactive list. Trevor Siemian, who had served as Fields' understudy all season, was in position to step in as the starter, but Siemian's availability for the game suddenly became murky during pregame warmups, when he suffered an oblique injury. Peterman thus appeared on track to get the start leading up to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, only for the Bears to determine that Siemian's oblique injury wasn't severe enough to prevent him from playing. Siemian ended up taking the field for the Bears' first offensive series and played all 57 snaps in the loss, and provided he didn't experience any setbacks with the oblique during the game, he'll presumably be in line to start Week 13 against the Packers if Fields isn't cleared to play.
