  • Dolphins' Skylar Thompson: Inactive Sunday

Thompson (thumb) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against Pittsburgh.

Thompson was limited by a right thumb injury during practice this week and won't be able to suit up in primetime Sunday. Tua Tagovailoa will return to the field while Teddy Bridgewater serves as his backup.

  • P.J. Walker QB | SEA

Panthers' PJ Walker: Leads monumental upset win

Walker completed 16 of 22 passes for 177 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Panthers' 21-3 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Walker managed to turn in what was arguably the best game of his career against about the biggest-name opponent possible, with the Temple product outdueling Tom Brady in one of the most improbable results of a season full of them thus far. He opened the scoring just before halftime with a 20-yard scoring strike to DJ Moore, and he ultimately salted the game with a perfectly thrown 29-yard touchdown pass to Tommy Tremble with 9:33 remaining. Baker Mayfield went into the weekend doubtful with his high-ankle sprain and was ultimately ruled inactive, and Sam Darnold (ankle) has already been designated for return from IR and began practicing this week. Therefore, Walker will likely need to put together another strong performance in a favorable Week 8 road matchup against the Falcons in order to have a chance to hold on to the starting role going into November.

  • Commanders' Taylor Heinicke: Throws two TDs to beat Packers

Heinicke completed 20 of 33 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Packers. He added two rushing attempts for four yards.

Heinicke got off to a dreadful start, completing just one of his first seven passes and throwing a pick-six. He bounced back on the ensuing drive by throwing a nine-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Gibson. Later in the first half, another potential pivotal Heinicke error was erased by a penalty, as an illegal contact penalty on the Packers defense negated a Heinicke fumble that was returned for a touchdown. His 37-yard touchdown to Terry McLaurin put Washington up 17-14 in the third quarter and the Commanders led the rest of the way as Heinicke notched a win in his season debut replacing the injured Carson Wentz (finger). Heinicke will look to build on this winning effort in Week 8 against the Colts.

  • Browns' Jacoby Brissett: Solid numbers in Week 7 loss

Brissett completed 22 of 27 passes for 258 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Browns' 23-20 loss to the Ravens on Sunday. He also rushed three times for 18 yards and committed two fumbles, losing one.

As has been the case more than once this season, Brissett put together a solid stat line in defeat. Moreover, although the veteran quarterback has come up short on making key plays in some of Cleveland's close losses, it was difficult to place blame at his feet Sunday. Brissett saw a would-be 34-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper nullified by an offensive pass interference call on the receiver with 2:24 remaining, and he managed to complete a last-ditch pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones that the receiver fumbled with seven seconds remaining. Brissett has now thrown for over 250 yards in back-to-back contests for the first time this season, and he'll tangle with another divisional opponent when the Bengals pay a visit for a Week 8 Monday night clash.

  • Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Held without passing TD by Giants

Lawrence completed 22 of 43 passes for 310 yards and rushed four times for three yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Giants.

After benefiting from the NFL's latest controversial roughing the passer penalty, Lawrence snuck over the goal line for a one-yard touchdown on the first drive of the second half to give Jacksonville a 17-13 lead. Another Lawrence sneak attempt early in the fourth quarter was less effective, as he failed to convert a 4th and 1 from New York's 20-yard line. Down 23-17 in the final minute, Lawrence had a sack and an interception erased by another pair of penalties on the Giants, then gained 15 yards on yet another roughing the passer call, but the help from the referees still wasn't enough as the Jaguars fell to 2-5 while Lawrence finished without a passing touchdown for the 10th time in 24 NFL starts. With a stingy Broncos pass defense in town next week, Lawrence's upside as a passer will remain limited in Week 8.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Rushes for over 100 in Week 7 win

Jones completed 19 of 30 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown while rushing 11 times for 107 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 win over Jacksonville.

Jones threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Darius Slayton on the opening drive. He then led a pair of field-goal drives in the second quarter before giving the Giants a 20-17 lead by scoring a one-yard rushing touchdown with 5:31 remaining in the fourth. New York tacked on a field goal late, then survived a penalty-filled final possession on defense to improve to 6-1. In addition to scoring his third rushing touchdown of the season, Jones topped 100 yards on the ground for the first time in his NFL career. Jones' dual-threat ability will make him an intriguing Week 8 fantasy option against a subpar Seahawks defense.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Commits four turnovers

Goff completed 21 of 26 passes for 228 yards with two interceptions while rushing once for four yards with two lost fumbles during Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Cowboys.

The Lions offense has had a hard time overcoming injuries to key offensive playmakers lately, and it didn't help Goff that Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion) eventually joined D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and DJ Chark (ankle) on the sidelines before halftime. While Goff still managed to dink and dunk his way into scoring position a couple of times, his four total turnovers -- including three on the first four possessions of the second half -- doomed Detroit's chances of a come-from-behind victory. The bright side is that this offense led the league in many offensive categories when at full strength over the first few weeks of the season, and it is possible the unit could get back on track in Week 8 against the Dolphins with the possible returns of Swift and St. Brown.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

    Bengals' Joe Burrow: Shreds Falcons

Burrow completed 34 of 42 passes for 481 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 35-17 win over the Falcons. He added three rushes for 20 yards and an additional score.

Burrow topped 37 passes for the first time since Week 1 and was incredibly efficient with his opportunity. He torched the Falcons' defense for nine completions of at least 20 yards, highlighted by touchdowns of 60, 41 and 32 yards. His effort through the air will rightfully get the majority of the attention, but Burrow also tallied a rushing score for the third consecutive game. After a relatively sluggish start to the campaign, Burrow has tallied at least 300 passing yards and three touchdowns in each of his last two games.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Injures ankle in Sunday's win

Tannehill, who suffered a right ankle injury during Sunday's 19-10 win over the Colts, hopes to be able to play next weekend against the Texans, Mike Organ of the Nashville Tennessean reports. "It doesn't feel great, but that kind of comes with the territory," Tannehill said after Sunday's contest. "I'm going to do everything I can this week to get back out there."

Tannehill, who was sporting a walking boot on his ankle when he met with the media, left Sunday's game for one play during the fourth quarter, with Malik Willis briefly stepping in. The veteran QB ended up completing 13 of 20 pass attempts for 132 yards and logged four carries for six yards in a Tennessee win that included four Randy Bullock field goals and an Andrew Adams interception that resulted in a 76-yard TD. If Tannehill is forced to miss any practice time this coming week, look for Willis to handle first-team signal-caller reps.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: More frustration in Week 7 loss

Rodgers completed 23 of 35 passes for 194 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 23-21 loss to the Commanders on Sunday. He also committed a fumble that was recovered by Green Bay.

Rodgers' pedestrian stat line, which included a figure of 5.5 yards per attempt, underscores the difficulty he once again encountered in achieving any type of offensive cohesion. The future Hall of Famer was without trusted target Randall Cobb (IR-ankle), although he did get Sammy Watkins (hamstring) back into the fold. Rodgers was nearly able to pull off a comeback, hitting Aaron Jones down the left sideline on a beautifully thrown ball with 3:26 remaining after also having connected with his running back in the first quarter from four yards out. However, Rodgers didn't get the ball back until Green Bay had exhausted its timeouts and only 23 seconds remained, yet the Packers nearly made a wild multi-lateral play work with no time left. With his team now 3-4, Rodgers will undoubtedly feel plenty of pressure to lift them out of their malaise in what seems like a near-insurmountable challenge in the form of a Week 8 Sunday night road matchup against a Bills team coming off its bye week.
