  • Chase Brown RB | CIN

Bengals' Chase Brown: Two touches in win

Brown rushed once for four yards and secured his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seahawks.

Brown operated as Cincinnati's No. 3 back, playing just four of the Bengals' 54 offensive snaps Sunday. The rookie's one rushing attempt was his first since Week 2 while he has earned just one target through the air in each of the last three games. Barring an injury to starter Joe Mixon or primary backup Trayveon Williams, Brown will likely continue to see extremely limited usage in the Bengals' offense. Cincinnati heads into a Week 7 bye before returning to visit the 49ers in Week 8.

  • Bengals' Trayveon Williams: Two catches in win

Williams caught both of his targets for three yards in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seahawks.

Williams failed to record a single rush in the contest while operating as the team's No. 2 running back. The veteran played just nine of the Bengals' 54 offensive snaps Sunday, limiting his usage behind starter Joe Mixon. Barring an injury to Mixon, Williams remains far off the fantasy radar heading into Cincinnati's Week 7 bye.

  • Saints' Jamaal Williams: Practice window opens

The Saints designated Williams (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Tuesday.

Williams was listed as a limited participant Monday on the Saints' initial Week 7 injury report, but because the report was merely an estimate, his 21-day evaluation window wasn't opened. The Saints held a walkthrough session Tuesday, and with Williams participating on a limited basis, the team now has three weeks to activate him from IR. Given that New Orleans is unlikely to hold a rigorous practice session Wednesday, the 28-year-old doesn't seem especially likely to be activated ahead of Thursday's game against the Jaguars. Instead, a return in Week 8 at Indianapolis is more realistic for Williams, who is expected to work in complementary fashion to Alvin Kamara as a short-yardage and early-down specialist.

  • Myles Gaskin RB | SEA

Rams' Myles Gaskin: Catches on with Rams

The Rams signed Gaskin off the Vikings' practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

With Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) both seemingly trending toward absences for Sunday's game against the Steelers, the Rams bolstered their running back room Tuesday with the signings of Gaskin and Royce Freeman, the latter of whom was promoted from Los Angeles' practice squad. Given that Freeman and the lone other healthy back on the 53-man roster -- rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans -- have combined to play six snaps on offense over the five total games in which they've suited up this season, neither may be guaranteed work over Gaskin, despite being in the organization longer. Gaskin shouldn't require much time to get up to speed with the Rams' offensive concepts given his recent stint in Minnesota under head coach Kevin O'Connell, a disciple of the Sean McVay coaching tree.

  • 49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Avoids long-term injury

McCaffrey (oblique/rib) isn't considered to be dealing with a long-term injury and could be available for Monday's game against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The 49ers have yet to provide an update on McCaffrey after he underwent an MRI on Monday, but Schefter's report suggests the running back avoided a high-grade oblique strain or any sort of major damage to his ribcage. Along with wideout Deebo Samuel (shoulder) and standout offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle), McCaffrey appears to be in the day-to-day category as the 49ers prepare for their Week 7 game in Minnesota.

  • Mohamed Ibrahim: Joins Lions' practice squad

Detroit signed Ibrahim to its practice squad Tuesday.

The Lions cut ties with Ibrahim earlier this year prior to Week 1, but with David Montgomery (ribs), Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) and Zonovan Knight (shoulder) all now tending to injuries, they saw fit to bring him back on board ahead of Week 7. He could be elevated to the active roster as soon as Sunday at Baltimore.

  • James Robinson: Joins Green Bay's practice squad

Green Bay signed Robinson to its practice squad Tuesday.

Since being cut by the Giants ahead of the regular season, Robinson had worked out for multiple teams before Green Bay opted to bring him aboard. The 25-year-old will begin his tenure with the Packers on the practice squad, but he could be promoted to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos if Aaron Jones (hamstring) isn't healthy coming out of Green Bay's Week 6 bye. Robinson ran for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns with the Jaguars as an undrafted rookie in 2020 but has struggled to recapture that form since tearing an Achilles' tendon late in the 2021 season.

  • Darrell Henderson: Makes return to L.A.

The Rams signed Henderson to their practice squad Tuesday.

With the Rams having traded Cam Akers to the Vikings earlier this season and the top two options on the backfield depth chart -- Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) -- both looking unlikely to be available in Week 7 versus the Steelers, the team will bring back a familiar face in Henderson. Before being waived last November, he spent four seasons with the Rams, appearing in 50 regular-season games and scoring 17 touchdowns while averaging 4.4 yards on 396 carries and 7.2 yards on 66 catches. Though Henderson won't be added to the 53-man roster immediately, his familiarity with head coach Sean McVay's playbook will make him a candidate for elevation ahead of Sunday's game once he gets a week of practice under his belt. The Rams currently have rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans and Royce Freeman as the lone healthy running backs on their roster.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Rams' Royce Freeman: Promoted to L.A. roster

The Rams signed Freeman off their practice squad Tuesday.

Freeman will get a permanent spot on the Rams' 53-man roster after the team had previously elevated him from its practice squad in Weeks 2 through 4. Though he's seen all 37 of his snaps on special teams in his three appearances, the veteran could have a role out of the backfield Sunday against the Steelers with both Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) looking unlikely to be available. The Rams still have rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans on hand as an option to lead the ground attack, but Freeman could rotate in and potentially handle passing downs. Los Angeles also re-signed Darrell Henderson to its practice squad Tuesday and could elevate him to the roster this week to bolster the backfield.

  • Ty Chandler RB | NO

Vikings' Ty Chandler: Relegated to special teams

Chandler played all 16 of his snaps on special teams Sunday in the Vikings' 19-13 win over the Bears.

For the third week in a row, Chandler was limited exclusively to special-teams work with trade acquisition Cam Akers having settled in as the No. 2 back behind Alexander Mattison. Akers is averaging a solid 5.7 yards per carry since joining the Vikings, so the coaching staff may not be overly motivated to give Chandler a look on offense.
