The Lions signed Jefferson to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Jefferson will get another chance to carve out a spot with Detroit heading into the offseason. The 2021 seventh-round pick logged 15 carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns across seven games during his rookie season, though he spent the entirety of 2022 on the practice squad before being elevated for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Packers. Jefferson never wound up taking the field against Green Bay, though his experience with the team was still enough to earn him a new deal heading into this offseason.

The Raiders signed Walter to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Walter first joined up with Las Vegas in July and spent the preseason with the team. However, the 5-foot-8 running back never managed to crack the team's final 53-man roster, as he spent the entirety of the 2022 campaign on the practice squad. Walter logged 26 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown over four games with the Jets in 2021, and he'll look to compete for an active roster spot heading into the 2023 season.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that the fractured thumb Mostert suffered in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Jets is "serious," David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

With the running back having sustained what McDaniel described as a "significant break," Mostert's status for this weekend's wild-card game against the Bills is iffy, at best. McDaniel noted that "it's hard to know" if Mostert will be available this Sunday, but the Dolphins should gain more clarity on that front after assessing the 30-year-old in practices over the next few days. If Mostert ends up sitting out the postseason opener, Jeff Wilson would be in line to see an expanded role as the clear lead option in the Miami backfield.

Snell played exclusively on special teams during the Steelers' 28-14 win over the Browns on Sunday.

The 24-year-old lost out on his role as the No. 2 running back to undrafted rookie Jaylen Warren in 2022, and Snell wasn't on the field for any offensive snaps over the final four weeks of the regular season. The 2019 fourth-rounder rushed 20 times for 90 yards while securing both of his targets for 17 yards this season. Snell is set to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him seek out another team since he's lost out on work in Pittsburgh over the last two years.

Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Edwards is in the concussion protocol, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner reports.

Edwards exited the regular-season finale against the Bengals due to a head injury, and he appears to have been concussed on the play. He will have to pass the NFL's five-step concussion protocol to suit up for the rematch in the wild-card round. J.K. Dobbins is expected to lead Baltimore's backfield in the playoffs, but more touches could be available for Kenyan Drake or Justice Hill if Edwards is unable to play.

Jackson signed his exclusive rights deal with the Colts on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports.

Jackson will return to the Colts on the league minimum salary in 2023. The 23-year-old running back rushed 68 times for 236 yards and one touchdown while catching 30 of 34 targets for 209 yards and one touchdown this season. Jackson will likely be limited to a depth role in the fall unless injuries deplete the Colts' backfield depth again.

Williams took 14 carries for 32 yards and two catches for nine yards in Sunday's 26-6 win over Dallas.

Williams got the third start of his career three weeks before his 29th birthday, though Jaret Patterson finished with more carries and yards (17 for 78) with both Antonio Gibson (foot, IR) and Brian Robinson (knee, inactive) sidelined for the season finale. Williams is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and should find an opportunity -- be it in Washington or elsewhere -- to compete for a special-teams role and depth RB job.

Mostert suffered a broken thumb in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Jets, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Mostert suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Miami's playoff berth-clinching win. It remains to be seen whether Mostert will be capable of playing through this injury in the wild-card round against the Bills. If Mostert is unable to suit up Sunday in Buffalo, Jeff Wilson likely would take on a workhorse role in Miami's backfield.

Nwangwu notched five carries for 13 yards and reeled in his only target for 16 yards during Sunday's 29-13 win against the Bears.

Nwangwu had just four carries all season prior to Sunday, but he got some playing time at running back in the second half while starters were rested ahead of the playoffs. He'll likely remain exclusively in a special-teams role during the postseason.

Hall (knee) is progressing faster than expected in his recovery from a torn ACL, and the 21-year-old running back believes he could be ready for training camp this summer, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Prior to tearing his ACL in October, Hall was the leading candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year, rushing 80 times for 463 yards and four touchdowns while adding 19 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown on 31 targets in his first seven games. Hall is expected to lead the Jets backfield once he's capable of handling a full workload, and this update at the end of the 2022 season suggests he could be ready from the get-go in 2023.
