Herbert rushed the ball 12 times for 62 yards in Monday's 33-14 win over the Patriots. He added one reception for 25 yards and a touchdown.

He earned only two touches fewer than David Montgomery, with both looking effective in Chicago's win. Herbert had two rushes that went for more than 10 yards, though his performance was highlighted by a 25-yard touchdown reception late in the first half. He remains the No. 2 option in the Bears backfield, though it appears the team may be willing to reward Herbert with a bigger workload.

Harris recorded three carries for eight yards in Monday's 33-14 loss to the Bears.

Harris returned from a one-game absence caused by a hamstring injury, though he made minimal impact. The Patriots had the ball for just under 23 minutes and were chasing points for much of the second half, which isn't the ideal game script for Harris. Instead, Rhamondre Stevenson remained the clear lead back, and his performance was highlighted by eight receptions as well as a goal-line rushing score. It's possible that Harris will see an increased workload in more positive game scripts, but his volume will likely be volatile.

Stevenson rushed the ball 11 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 33-14 loss to the Bears. He added eight receptions for 59 yards.

Stevenson accounted for 11 of the team's 14 carries by running backs, despite the return of Damien Harris. Game script may have played a role in the backfield split, as the Patriots surprisingly trailed for the entire second half. However, Stevenson also gave the team no reason to shift work elsewhere, as he accounted for three plays of 10 or more yards -- all of which came on receptions. However, Stevenson also made an impact on the ground, tallying one of New England's two touchdowns with a four-yard scamper midway through the second quarter. Harris could see more work in better circumstances, but Stevenson appears to have the inside track to lead the backfield.

Montgomery rushed the ball 15 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 33-14 win over the Patriots.

The Bears' backfield came very close to an even split, as Montgomery out-touched Khalil Herbert only 15-13. Montgomery ran fairly effectively, though the majority of his production came early in the fourth quarter on a drive during which he tallied his longest rush of the day -- 12 yards -- and also found the end zone from one yard away. With the performance, Montgomery topped 60 rushing yards in a game for only the second time this season, and he appears to be headed for a split in workload with Herbert moving forward.

Spiller lost five yards in his only carry of Sunday's 37-23 blowout loss to the Seahawks.

The rookie made his NFL debut Sunday with Joshua Kelley (knee) set to miss at least four games, but the Chargers fell behind by three scores in the first quarter, which limited any opportunities for the likes of Spiller or Sony Michel. The rookie does have draft pedigree relative to Michel and also profiles as a better receiving target out of the backfield, but given the 21-year-old's much-maligned preseason and subsequent multiple healthy scratches to begin the 2022 campaign, it's clear Spiller will need to earn his way into a more prominent role.

Robinson (knee) has been traded to the Jets for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2023, which becomes a fifth-rounder if he reaches 600 rushing yards this season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

The details of the trade have been confirmed, and Robinson is heading to New York, where he'll likely take over as the top option in a backfield that includes Michael Carter and Ty Johnson following Breece Hall's season-ending knee injury. Robinson had begun to lose touches to Travis Etienne in Jacksonville but should see an uptick in usage for the 5-2 Jets, who primarily rely on their defense and running game. He already has 340 rushing yards on the campaign, so Jacksonville will get a fifth-round pick in this trade if Robinson rushes for 260 more yards.

The Jets have agreed to a trade for Jacksonville running back James Robinson (knee), per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv, which likely will push Carter back to a change-of-pace role.

Carter may see similar usage to what he has been getting all season, while Robinson is a decent bet to step into the featured role previously occupied by Breece Hall, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Sunday's win over the Broncos. Robinson currently is battling some knee soreness, but the Jets presumably did their due diligence and determined him to be relatively healthy before agreeing to trade for the former 1,000-yard rusher.

Blackshear lost five yards on his two carries in Sunday's 21-3 win over the Buccaneers.

Blackshear was handed the first touches of his NFL career after the Panthers traded star tailback Christian McCaffrey late last week. While D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard split most of the backfield workload in the wake of McCaffrey's departure, Blackshear got involved for a little bit during the second half Sunday, when Hubbard exited due to an ankle injury. Should Hubbard be slowed ahead of Week 8's matchup versus the Buccaneers, Blackshear could get more reps than usual, but his fantasy stock is otherwise rather restricted.

Etienne is poised to lead the Jaguars backfield after the team dealt James Robinson (knee) to the Jets on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Etienne took on a majority share of the RBs reps for the Jaguars on Sunday against the Giants, earning 57 of 71 offensive snaps and 15 touches for 119 yards from scrimmage with one rushing TD versus Robinson's 12 snaps and zero touches (one target). Also in Week 7, the Jets lost rookie running back Breece Hall for the season due to a torn ACL, which paved the way for Monday's trade. With only JaMycal Hasty and Snoop Conner to contend with for reps, Etienne now features as Jacksonville's unquestioned top RB and perhaps best overall skill-position player.

The Jets are slated to trade a sixth-round draft pick that can become a fifth-rounder to the Jaguars in exchange for Robinson (knee), Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.

With that, Robinson is in line to work in tandem with Michael Carter in the Jets backfield in the wake of Breece Hall's season-ending knee injury. Meanwhile, the deal cements Travis Etienne as Jacksonville's clear-cut top back in the coming weeks.
