  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Productive despite loss

Ekeler carried the ball four times for 11 yards and also registered five receptions for 58 yards in the 24-17 loss Sunday to the Raiders.

While Ekeler is well off his career pace of 5.3 yards per carry, the diminutive running back has a slim opportunity to become just the third running back since 1985 to record over 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. The 24-year-old is likely to finish the campaign with over 1,400 scrimmage yards, and Ekeler continues to be one of the better bargains of the 2019 fantasy season relative to his August draft value.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Two touchdowns salvage day

Gordon carried the ball nine times for 15 yards and two touchdowns while catching six of his seven targets for 32 yards in the 24-17 loss to the Raiders on Sunday.

A miserable fantasy day was salvaged thanks to two one-yard touchdowns, with Gordon capitalizing on excellent ball movement by the Chargers' passing attack. Austin Ekeler continues to be the more efficient running back on a per-touch basis, recording five passes for 58 yards and also adding 11 yards on the ground Sunday, but Gordon has essentially operated as the team's primary goal-line threat, scoring at least one touchdown in all but three games since Week 7. With the Chargers well out of the playoff hunt, Gordon will have one more chance to audition for a new contract when the team takes on the Chiefs next week.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Toughs out illness Sunday

Mixon, who was said to be dealing with an illness prior to Sunday's 38-35 overtime loss to the Dolphins, rushed 21 times for 50 yards and brought in both targets for 23 yards during the contest.

Mixon turned in a gutsy performance considering he was under the weather, even though his likely depleted energy levels prevented him from fully capitalizing on an excellent matchup on paper. Mixon's yardage total was disappointing in the wake of his back-to-back 100-yard performances in Weeks 14 and 15, but he'll hope to thrive in another potentially favorable scenario versus the Browns' suspect run defense in Week 17.

  • Qadree Ollison RB | PIT

Falcons' Qadree Ollison: Yet another rushing TD

Ollison registered a three-yard rushing touchdown on his lone carry during Sunday's 24-12 win against the Jaguars.

The rookie Ollison continues to be a goal-line vulture, now having accumulated four rushing TDs on just 18 career carries. His 2.3 yards-per-carry clip has been less than optimal, but that low average is largely attributable to Ollison being deployed against stacked boxes as a primary short-yardage option for Atlanta. Ollison may find difficulty breaking into the end zone again in the season finale, with Atlanta taking on a Buccaneers defense that has allowed just eight rushing scores all year to opposing RBs.

  • Myles Gaskin RB | SEA

Dolphins' Myles Gaskin: First career TD before injury

Gaskin rushed 16 times for 55 yards and a touchdown and secured one of three targets for three yards in the Dolphins' 38-35 overtime win against the Bengals on Sunday before exiting the game for good with 3:59 remaining in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.

Before his premature exit, Gaskin had notched his first career rushing score early in the fourth quarter on a two-yard run. Gaskin also established new high-water marks in carries and rushing yards in the contest, but his status for the Week 17 finale against the Patriots is now firmly in question.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Nabs career-high 15 passes

McCaffrey ran for 54 yards on 13 carries and added 15 catches on 15 targets for 119 yards during Sunday's 38-6 loss to the Colts.

With rookie Will Grier making his first career start, McCaffrey was relied on in the dink-and-dunk passing game for a career-high 15 catches. He's been arguably the most reliable fantasy player in the league with at least 100 total yards in all but two games this season, both against division rival Tampa Bay. The season ends against a Saints defense against whom McCaffrey picked up 133 total yards and two total touchdowns in Week 12. Despite a rookie under center, McCaffrey is a safe bet to be similarly productive in the finale given his ability to be multidimensional.

  • Colts' Nyheim Hines: Dominates on special teams

Hines had a four-yard run on his sole carry and added a two-yard catch during Sunday's 38-6 win over Carolina. He also compiled 195 yards and two touchdowns on three punt returns.

Hines extended the Colts' lead to two scores midway through the first quarter with an 84-yard touchdown on a punt return. He subsequently put the game away midway through the fourth quarter with a weaving 71-yard runback. They were the first two return touchdowns of Hines' career. The season ends next Sunday versus the Jaguars, against which Hines ran for 11 yards and a touchdown on three carries and gained 44 yards on a pair of kick returns back in Week 11.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Not used on offense

Breida did not play any snaps on offense in Saturday's 34-31 win over the Rams.

The oft-injured back was not listed on the injury report, so his demotion to special teams was a coaching decision. Breida had a rough go of it last week against Atlanta (four carries for 11 yards and a lost fumble), which may have played a role in his lack of touches. The speedy back has otherwise been solid when deployed this season (119 rushes for 607 yards and a touchdown), so coach Kyle Shanahan may also be attempting to keep Breida fresh for the playoffs after the third-year back endured multiple injuries over the course of the regular season. Sunday's matchup against Seattle will decide the fate of the NFC West, so while the 24-year-old could be part of the gameplan, the uncertainty surrounding his playing time makes him tough to trust for fantasy purposes.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Piles up 279 scrimmage yards

Barkley carried 22 times for 189 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Redskins. He also caught four passes for 90 yards and another score in the 41-35 win.

Barkley gashed the Washington run defense for 8.6 yards per carry, with his best effort resulting in a 67-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He was also a huge factor in the passing game, adding a 33-yard touchdown catch en route to his best receiving output of the season. Barkley now has 422 yards from scrimmage to go along with four touchdowns over the last two weeks, and he'll look to finish the season strong next Sunday at home against the Eagles.

  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Salvages game late

Wilkins ran for 84 yards and a touchdown on nine carries during Sunday's 38-6 win over Carolina.

Wilkins was having a ho-hum game heading into the final minutes of the game. He then ripped off a 38-yard scamper to the goal line and subsequently punched it in on the next play. The season ends next Sunday with a matchup against Jacksonville's 29th-ranked run defense, but Wilkins is a risky bet to take advantage of that matchup -- he's topped 25 yards just five times this season and has had double-digit touches just once in 2019.
