  • Packers' Jamaal Williams: Carted off field Thursday

Williams was carted off the field with an apparent head injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Williams took a late shot to the head from Derek Barnett and spent a few minutes on the ground before eventually being loaded onto a stretcher and taken off the field. More information about his injury should be released after the game, but in the meantime Aaron Jones will take over all running back duties Thursday as the only active RB on Green Bay's game-day roster.

  • Rashaad Penny RB | CAR

Seahawks' Rashaad Penny: Returns to practice Thursday

Penny (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant on Thursday's injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Penny upheld coach Pete Carroll's initial thoughts on the running back's return to practice. With one session under his belt and another to go, Penny seems to have a chance to rejoin Chris Carson in the Seahawks' backfield this weekend. Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not that's a possibility.

  • Corey Clement RB | ARI

Eagles' Corey Clement: Returning to action Thursday

Clement (shoulder) is listed as active Thursday at Green Bay.

Clement progressed well through the shoulder injury that he picked up Week 2, going from DNP to LP to FP on Eagles injury reports in advance of this contest. Poised to return from a one-game absence, he may not be more than a special teamer with all of Miles Sanders, Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles healthy.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Broncos' Royce Freeman: Limited again at practice

Freeman (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant at Thursday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.

After picking up the shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to Green Bay, Freeman had his reps restricted in the Broncos' first two practices of Week 4. Coach Vic Fangio hasn't suggested that Freeman is in any serious peril of missing this weekend's matchup with the Jaguars, but a clearer picture of his availability (or lack thereof) won't come until Denver releases its final injury report shortly after Friday's practice concludes.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Team granted roster exemption

Per the NFL's official transaction log, the Chargers have been granted a roster exemption for Gordon in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Following a lengthy contract-related holdout, Gordon reported to the Chargers' facility Thursday and promptly rejoined practice. While the team is not expected to activate Gordon this weekend, he's a candidate to be worked back into the team's backfield in Week 5's home game against the Broncos. Austin Ekeler is thus presumably in line for one more start Sunday, with Justin Jackson on hand to work in a complementary role.

  • Bears' Cordarrelle Patterson: Practices in full

Patterson (triceps) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Patterson has successfully shaken his triceps injury and appears set for Sunday's divisional tilt against the Vikings. The veteran has seen usage as both a runner and receiver in Chicago's offense, though he's averaging less than four touches per game. It's likely that Patterson will do most of his damage as a kick returner Week 4.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Returns to practice

Gordon participated in Thursday's practice, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com reports.

That said, Williams previously reported that the Chargers will likely request a two-week roster exemption from the league, while Gordon works his way back into playing shape. Additionally, while the running back may travel with the team for Sunday's road game in Miami, Gordon -- who is just back from a lengthy holdout -- is not expected to be activated for that contest.

  • Falcons' Kenjon Barner: No practice Thursday

Barner (concussion/knee) was held out of practice Thursday.

Unlike fellow running back Ito Smith, who also is in the concussion protocol, Barner didn't work with the special teams group during the portion of practice open to the media, according to Jason Butt of The Athletic. With no apparent progress made through his head injury to date, Barner is trending in the wrong direction for an appearance Sunday versus the Titans. Friday's injury report could provide a glimpse into that eventuality.

  • Falcons' Kenjon Barner: Upgrades to limited practice

Barner (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Barner appears to be progressing well in his recovery from a head injury sustained Week 3. He'll need to fully clear the league's concussion protocol before retaking the field, including being medically cleared by an independent neurologist, so it remains to be seen whether Barner will manage to get healthy in time for Sunday's tilt against the Titans.

  • Bills' Devin Singletary: Puts in limited practice

Coach Sean McDermott said Singletary (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Beyond noting that Singletary "did some nice things" during the session, McDermott wouldn't expound on what the limited showing might mean with regards to the rookie's status for Sunday's game against the Patriots. At the very least, Singletary is seemingly in a better place on the health front than where he was last week, when he failed to take part in any of the Bills' three practices in advance of the team's win over the Bengals.
