  • Kalel Mullings RB | TEN

Titans' Kalel Mullings: Misses practice Wednesday

Mullings (ankle) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website reports.

Mullings suffered a right ankle injury in the team's 20-12 loss to the Broncos in Week 1, and he has now opened the week of practice on the sidelines. The running back will have two more opportunities to return to practice before Sunday's matchup with the Rams.

  • Bears' Roschon Johnson: Another limited listing

Johnson (foot) was listed as limited on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Johnson mustered just one limited practice last week prior to being inactive for Monday's loss to the Vikings. Considering he's kicking off Week 2 prep with a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walkthrough, he may be beginning to ramp up in anticipation of his season debut. If he's able to suit up Sunday in Detroit, Johnson will join rookie seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai as the backfield options behind starter D'Andre Swift.

  • Sione Vaki RB | DET

Lions' Sione Vaki: Returns to practice Wednesday

Vaki (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Vaki wasn't able to practice all of last week due to a lingering hamstring injury, which prevented him from playing in the Lions' Week 1 loss to the Packers. His ability to return to practice -- albeit in a limited capacity -- is a sign that the 2024 fourth-rounder is recovering from his injury, and he has a chance at making his 2025 regular-season debut against the Bears on Sunday.

  • Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ

Jets' Kene Nwangwu: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Nwangwu (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Nwangwu played just three snaps on special teams and logged 33 kick-return yards before departing in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Steelers due to a hamstring injury. The 2021 fourth-rounder will have two more opportunities to participate in practice and avoid an injury designation heading into the Jets' Week 2 AFC East clash against the Bills this Sunday. The recently signed Isaiah Williams would be the top candidate to join Arian Smith on kick returns if Nwangwu is unable to play.

  • Ty Chandler RB | NO

Vikings' Ty Chandler: Dealing with knee injury

Head coach Kevin O'Connell said during Wednesday's press conference that Chandler suffered a knee injury during the Vikings' 27-24 win over the Bears on Monday.

O'Connell added that Chandler is expected to miss time while recovering from his knee injury, though how long his absence will be is unclear. Chandler is unlikely to play against the Falcons on Sunday but could be available for the Vikings' Week 3 bout against the Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 21. The 2022 fifth-rounder played 13 special-teams snaps in Week 1 and returned three kickoffs for 84 yards, so Tai Felton is a candidate to join Myles Price (knee) on kickoff returns.

  • Will Shipley RB | PHI

Eagles' Will Shipley: Tending to oblique issue

Shipley was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to an oblique injury.

When Shipley exited last Thursday's win against the Cowboys, the Eagles deemed him questionable to return due to a rib injury, which has been reclassified on the team's first Week 2 practice report. He was acting as Saquon Barkley's primary backup before his departure, but Philadelphia traded for Tank Bigsby on Monday to give it another option aside from AJ Dillon out of the backfield if Shipley isn't able to suit up Sunday in Kansas City.

  • Jaylen Wright RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Sits out practice again

Wright (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Wright has yet to practice since undergoing right knee surgery in late August, and he appears an unlikely candidate to gain clearance in time to return Sunday against the Patriots. The Dolphins haven't yet, however, offered an expected timetable for the 2024 fourth-round pick's return. If Wright is sidelined again Week 2, Ollie Gordon and practice-squad player Jeff Wilson will remain the backups to undersized workhorse De'Von Achane.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

    Colts' Tyler Goodson: Limited Wednesday

Goodson (elbow) was limited in practice Wednesday.

Goodson was also limited in practice prior to being officially inactive Week 1, so he may need to upgrade to full participation Thursday or Friday in order to gain clearance for Sunday's home game against the Broncos. Once healthy, Goodson will compete with DJ Giddens for reserve touches behind workhorse starter Jonathan Taylor.

  • James Cook RB | BUF

Bills' James Cook: Logs limited practice

Cook (hamstring) was listed as limited in Wednesday's practice.

In the Bills' 41-40 win over the Ravens in Week 1, Cook logged 48 of a possible 85 snaps on offense en route to carrying 13 times for 44 yards and a TD while catching all five of his targets for 58 yards. It's unclear if his hamstring issue stems from Buffalo's season opener or is the result of something that occurred Wednesday. Either way, Cook -- who is backed up by Ray Davis and Ty Johnson -- has two more chances to work fully ahead of Sunday's contest against the Jets.

  • Will Shipley RB | PHI

    Eagles' Will Shipley: Not practicing

Shipley (ribs) isn't practicing Wednesday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.

Shipley took three carries for 26 yards in the first half of last Thursday's win over Dallas, but he was injured on a kickoff late in the second quarter and didn't play after halftime. The Eagles then traded for RB Tank Bigsby on Monday, giving up fifth- and sixth-round picks in 2026, which is seemingly enough compensation to put Shipley on the hot seat even if he returns from his injury soon (which is far from guaranteed). AJ Dillon filled in as the No. 2 RB after halftime last Thursday, taking three carries for 10 yards while occasionally spelling Saquon Barkley, who finished the night with a 79 percent snap share and 22 touches.
