  • Pierre Strong: Slated to be cut by Browns

The Browns plan to waive Strong (concussion), Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Strong left Saturday's preseason game against the Rams to be evaluated for a concussion, but it's unclear if the running back was subsequently cleared. In any case, as a result of the looming move, the Browns' backfield depth behind Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson takes a hit, with 2025 second-rounder Quinshon Judkins still unsigned. Undrafted rookie Ahmani Marshall could open the season in the No. 3 role.

  • Xazavian Valladay: Cut by Minnesota

The Vikings waived Valladay on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Valladay signed with Minnesota late in camp and played 28 offensive snaps in the final preseason game, rushing eight times for 39 yards. The 27-year-old running back has appeared in one career regular-season contest but has yet to log an NFL rushing attempt.

  • Marcus Yarns RB | NO

Marcus Yarns: Sent to waivers by Saints

New Orleans waived Yarns on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Yarns inked with the Saints in April shortly after going undrafted out of Delaware, but he never had a reasonable path to a spot on the 53-man roster due to the team's crowded running back room. He'll look to earn a practice-squad opportunity as a rookie, whether with New Orleans or another club.

  • Tyjae Spears RB | TEN

Titans' Tyjae Spears: In line to miss at least four games

The Titans plan to place Spears (ankle) on injured reserve, meaning that the running back will be sidelined at least the first four games of the season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Spears -- who suffered a high ankle sprain earlier this month and was spotted in a walking boot this past weekend -- is thus slated to miss time out of the gate this season as a result of the looming transaction, which could occur Tuesday. As a result, Tony Pollard figures to see added touches, while the Titans will likely add depth to a backfield that also includes Julius Chestnut and Kalel Mullings (ankle). At several betting sites, the Titans' over-under for win totals is 5.5.

  • Ja'Quinden Jackson: Cut by Jacksonville

The Jaguars waived Jackson on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Undrafted out of Arkansas earlier this year, Jackson signed with the Jaguars and rushed 13 times for 56 yards across 41 offensive snaps this preseason. He also caught two passes for 13 yards.

  • Carlos Washington: Cut by Atlanta

The Falcons waived Washington on Tuesday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Washington dealt with a hamstring injury for the majority of the summer and didn't appear in any of the three preseason contests. He played in one regular-season game with Atlanta last season, logging 11 snaps on special teams.

  • Jashaun Corbin: Waived by Atlanta

The Falcons waived Corbin on Tuesday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Corbin logged 66 offensive snaps this preseason, finishing with 18 carries for 59 yards across three exhibitions. Corbin last appeared in a regular-season game back in 2023, when he produced one rushing yard on one attempt and caught three passes for 12 yards across six contests with the Giants.

  • Jonathan Ward: Dumped by G-Men

The Giants released Ward on Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Ward rushed 13 times for 47 yards and caught seven passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason. The 27-year-old could be a candidate to join the practice squad in New York.

  • Dante Miller RB | NYG

    Dante Miller: Waived by G-Men

The Giants waived Miller on Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Miller appeared in two regular-season games for the G-Men last season but didn't record a touch on offense. This preseason, however, Miller was one of the most productive running backs across the league, rushing 26 times for 80 yards while adding 14 catches for 135 yards on 14 targets. Miller will be a candidate to rejoin the Giants' practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Raheem Blackshear: Let go from Carolina

The Panthers waived Blackshear (ankle) with an injury settlement Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Blackshear appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Panthers last season, rushing 15 times for 80 yards as a deep reserve. He also returned 17 punts for 145 yards and 31 kickoffs for 791 yards. The Panthers are currently rolling with Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle and rookie Trevor Etienne in their backfield. Jonathon Brooks (knee) is expected to miss the 2025 campaign.
